Just give us pings mute already

Yi Bencheikh··90 votes·2,060 views

i am sick of our bot lane pre-made pushing under ennemies' turret with no vision or map awareness dying to ennemy jungler ganks , then they spam '' ennemy missing '' pings on me meanwhile i just helped our top getting a kill and pushing top turret for the first blood of turret . What the fuck ? Seriously give us the ability to mute specific player's pings .

I am sooo tired of people spamming missing ping on me every time I make a mistake.

YES I MAKE MISTAKES, some of them incredibly stupid, but stop spamming missing ping on me, its not helpful to me at all.

the only purpose it serves is to blow your ego.

Yeah, if you are playing ranked it means you are dragging people down with you. Unless they are doing the same shit, expect question marks if you are making dumb decisions. Such things will stop happening in two scenarions: you get better enough so that you don't do silly mistakes, or you get dragged down to elo where everyone does the same kind of mistakes so it's acceptable for everyone so no one bothers.

Dracocrash2 votes

Mmm, false.

Everyone makes mistakes, in my ELO. It's just that they prefer to look at other peoples, than their own.

Also, its basically the same as flaming. So your argument is basically "if you get flamed, you suck."

And it hardly ever happens in ranked, my ranked games tend to be wayy more civilized. It's only when im playing normals with cuck champions, I miss a skillshot? MISSING PING SPAM.

People usually care about the result in ranked, not in normals. If you get flamed in normals, you are at challenger MMR (pros practicing for LCS and expecting high level of play). I actually don't understand people who flame in games whose result doesn't matter.

Dracocrash1 votes

I'm pretty sure my normal MMR is like bronze 6. Unfortunately, I still do get flamed sometimes.

In ranked, my team just tends to be focused on winning/dont give a flying fuk about what im doing.

I generally only do that when the person directly ignores a previous warning ping.

Like, I warn-ping the same bush twice, and the low-HP jungle face checks it and gets instantly killed? He gets some ??? if only because I refuse to flame in chat but if I took my hands off the keyboard long enough to appropriately face palm I'd be dead too.

Missing a skill shot or getting ganked or just regular play though, it is really annoying to have people ? ping you, I agree.

You can turn down the volume in the sound settings.

i don't want to mute ALL pings just because of one moron spamming

Muting one person's pings, not everyone's pings, like you can click on a checkmark box next to their name on the scoreboard next to the mute button and they wont get to ping anymore.

I had once a game in normals where someone ping spammed literally 2500 times in one game. How do I know how many pings this guy did? He would ping ten times every ten seconds, it was so disruptive I had to hide my chat box and mute the game sounds to stop the spam from distracting me. Needless to say this ruined everyone's experience in the game.

I ran into a chat-restricted player in ARAM doing the same thing.

They were trying to burn through their punishment quickly by having their team quit and open so the game ended early just to get away from them.

They were intentionally feeding too.

Chromatic Eagle1 votes

Did you report them?

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

Yep.

Everyone else on our team agreed to just open the lane and let the enemy team end after explaining the situation rather than deal with him.

well i dont want to ignore my trolling harassing team mate for the duration of the game on the off chance he says something useful or good later on when he changes his mind and says "i dont want to lose"

/ignore (username)

if they have a long username, you can also try

/ignore @(champion) for example /ignore @riven

Friendly Ram2 votes

does it block pings or just block the noise?

Very Hard Engage3 votes

you already have it, go into settings/sounds and look around.

except its always a bad idea to do so, its communication, would you honestly rather there be none?

Brownie Elfie12 votes

That person probably had nothing beneficial to add by pings if they use it as harassment

Auroramancer3 votes

nah man, it's about muting a specific player's pings.

I often have games where my teammates legitimately use their pings for communication and to help each other out, while also having one player who is ridiculously toxic and misuses missing pings to harass others.

I'm not looking to mute everyone's pings, I still want to hear from my cooperative and helpful teammates, while not hearing from the toxic player.

I seriously want that mute LOL...

Got pingspammed all game, and then every time I cast Jhin's Ult... '!' '!' '!' '!' '!' '!' '!' '!' '!' '!' '!'

They think (or recognise) you suck, so they go all self-fulfilling prophecy and make sure it's the -worst game you've ever played-

Bonus points if they've gone 0/10! 5 whole minutes to sit there with their graycam pointed at you

Zelorxon1 votes

Well at least they're pushing...

crippler381 votes

they should have a remove the ping sound of one person and a remove the pinging of one person separately so that you can still see their pings if they happen to say something important.

The Cane Master1 votes

As well as muting people to post game lobby once they are muted in game. Most likely you are going to be welcomed with insults/insert mom sex jokes/ threats etc.
