"Support" Blitzcranks rewarded for refusing to learn the role.

It's extremely aggravating that players who don't want to play Support at all just have Blitzcrank on standby in case they get autofilled or as their secondary if they don't get their main role.

As a primary Support player I'm trying to commit to the role and it's ridiculous that I am on eggshells for 25 minutes because the ZedMidOrFeed420 didn't get Mid that game and just instalocked Blitzcrank and can ruin my entire lane by landing one ability one time if I make the smallest error. He can then go on to win the game single-handedly with a late-game pull.

I don't mean to make any balance assertions here, it is just ludicrously tilting to lose a 30-minute game to a "Support" Blitzcrank who bought 2 Control Wards total and who just resumed a standard build after finishing the warding item.

that's his job as a catcher, to punish positioning mistakes severely in order to get a carry fed. this is literally no different then a rakan or thresh. the only difference being unlike the other two if he misses a hook hes a super minion.

besides, if they land the hook, and get the carry fed, then you can damn well say they did their job as a support.

I feel like this is an issue with blitzcrank having a redonkulous amount of power crammed into his Q, rather than non-support players not learning the role. Blitz can somewhat viably build a lot of things, and 'standard build' for him is support-y anyway, so it's quite possible that theres a number of supports mains who would play blitz in the same manner.

Blitz is essentially my permaban since his Q is super obnoxious to play around, but thats me having issue with blitz, not with the people who may or may not be support mains when piloting him. (I'd much prefer they were non-support players if blitz ever did get past the ban stage, since non-support players fire their hooks basically off cooldown, making him super predictable and unlikely to actually land any, and hence much more useless than soraka/lulu/janna/karma [who themselves are way scarier in the hands of support mains since they do way more than heal/shield, but non-mains don't seem to know that].)

Blitzcrank is just so irritating. I used to think he was OP, but his winrate says otherwise. He just hard counters all squishy, immobile mage supports, which happen to be the ones I like to play because they're less dependent on getting a competent ADC then tanky, CC focused supports. However, balanced though he may be, he still consistently has a high ban rate, which suggests to me that other players find him as tilting as I do.

Riot, please select champions with high ban rates for their winrate for rework priority. Players hate their kit winning or losing, and that's a good indicator that it's inherently toxic.
