My Opinion on Balance: Don't Keep Shaking Up the Meta.

I don't believe that you should keep shaking the meta up by buffing and nerfing things slowly but surely. And to clarify, I will post a link to a comment about this same situation, which you can view here

Keypoints in the comment are the following:

The number one problem with this game is that Riot buffs/nerfs things in cycles to shake up the meta, with the INTENTION of shaking up the meta, instead of actually balancing the game

They want to "keep things interesting" by pushing certain champions and strategies out, and bringing others in, in cycles. They don't actually care about having a completely balanced game.

I want to play a balanced game where I can pick any champion and have an equal chance of winning based on my skill with that champion. Not a game where Riot dumps everything into a box and shakes it around a bit, and now my champion X is weak, but champion Y is strong, so I should pick champion Y or simply stop playing until Riot shakes up the box again.

I can honestly say I agree 100% with them. The game should not have a "meta" and should not promote a list of champions, while frowning on others. ALL champion should be an option, and be evenly powerful if you want to have a fair and fun game.

So I believe that you should stop releasing champions until season 5 completely, and after that, you should avoid trying to make things too incredibly unique and overloaded. Look at Kindred's ulti. It is incredibly broken, being able to negate death! Topped by a heal for everyone? I would have thought you learned when you released Ekko, that too much is BAD. B A D. Although, I will admit, that you did make a success a while ago, with Bard. He's extremely fair, fun, and balanced and is a great model for "a success"

Anyway, stopping champion releases will give you time to focus on champion balance. Instead of nerfing champions, create a "Super Patch" for Patch 6.0, in which at least 30 champions are given strong buffs to their kits, and some are re-tuned to NOT FIT THE META, but to be able to break free from it. The 30 champion buffs are a good start to rebuilding the champion roster. Champions that were once great picks years ago are now back on their feet, but not to an extreme extent.

Following that last point, I'm really hoping the Taric rework will not overload him heavily, or it's just going to be another "oops we did too much" just like Fiora, Darius, and Ekko.

Best of luck Riot. Please try to consider this.

DotA has most of its champions relevant, I'm not sure how they go around on number tweaks but I played it for a year (till potato fried) now I play LoL (works on fried potatoes apparently). Anyways, heroes there are all unique and do what they gotta do, and there they don't nerf them into the loss of his core-mechanics.

Anti-Mage fucks up mages. He burns mana per Auto which turns into damage, then his ult damages you for all the mana you're missing. If you're a mage you're fucked. They don't nerf him, there's just items that counter him.

Phantom Assassin can critically strike for 450% (basically one shots tanks and non-tanks). But you also have "Blademail" which for 4s or so returns 100% damage taken. Soooo yup.

I've played both, currently I play League and enjoy it alot, I'm satisfied. But in DotA I never felt as much as I do now that I'm useless/hopeless in certain matches.

My point, a game can be 'shaken' and interesting without making champions irrelevant.

Then tell them how to do so. Because the game is making champions irrelevant. There's only a handful of champions that are actually picked in competitive levels.
