I disagree that Morde has to go bot lane

I haven't been playing for a while so there are definitely quite a few changes I am not aware or not really familiar with. However it seems that after the Morde rework people are wrapped in the mindset that this guy has to go bot due to his W and R's condition.

And that makes me think. I am a long time Mordekaiser player/lover since S1/2, even though I have never used him to reach high elo or something like those, I would still argue that he is definitely viable everywhere else to an extent just like he was before. Though he might face rocky hills here and there, however it's absolutely possible to run Morde in any other lane.

Why?

  1. Morde didn't always use W in lane anyway. Considering it originally had a 20 seconds CD or something along the lines, hence it was mostly reserved for aggression, such as ganking. Now he may not use it when he's alone, yes, but the potential offensive power for when it can be used (gank?) is HUGE. That's why he should still be capable of functioning in top and mid (or even jungle).

  2. His doesn't need to have the dragon ghost all the time. Yes, having a dragon pet is cool and it gives the team a huge power up. But that doesn't mean Morde should be stuck in bot lane, solely waiting to become level 6, as the spell's original function from before the rework is still there. If you're playing him mid or jungle, you can still get access to dragon fairly easily and shouldn't be that much of a problem. In top lane though, you can still capture the enemy laner's soul and rush down the top turrets, and if you have to get dragon, I am sure there is Teleport to help as well.

That's why I personally think Morde doesn't have to be at bot and is in fact, able to go anywhere he pleases.

Thoughts?

EDIT: That pic is horrid, not like I can take it off. Oh well.

Except his best lane is still bot lane. Fine to go anywhere, but the consensus (and statistics) clearly show: Morde Bot is the best place to go.

That would be correct, but I think Morde is a little like say, Vayne now, considering Vayne is best at bot but has no problem taking people solo in top lane.

I am simply arguing that his playstyle isn't as hard locked (at least theoretically) as people make it out to be, and can be quite flexible as long as he doesn't just receive a gut straight into his face next patch that is (which I would be real sad).

I think the primary problem is the hit to his waveclear, and the the nerf to the base damage on his E. His winrates in solo-lanes after the patch released has been the lowest win-rate in both top lane and mid lane of all the laners to be positioned there. It's no coincidence.

Meanwhile his bot lane win-rate skyrocketed.

I think it's still a little early to pass a completely judgement on whether he is capable of running on other lanes outside of bot lane, maybe he would become stronger after people get around his somewhat new kit.

I just personally, see a potential of him also being strong outside of his intended lane which is bot atm.

EDIT: Or maybe a little early game buff? I heard his snowball is broken atm, which is gonna get nerfed sooner or later anyway. I would gladly trade that with a slight early buff so he can go other places too.

He won't be strong kit/stats wise in other lanes, but skill based in other lanes more.

Yeah i guess that seems to be the case.

if you buy gunbalde instead of wota your e will do higher damage thanks to its total ad ratio and mordes super high base ad.

I played him bot lane today. I guess he shines there because if you hit third Q on enemy ADC, he losses more than half HP. And most supports have enough cc to help you hit it. Dragon pet is really strong too. And if you have vayne top in team, well, you don't loose late game damage at all. Another thing to note, is that if you kill enemy bot, 99% of times turret goes down too. Shure he can go top, mid, jungle too, but like everyone said, currently I believe he has best win rate of all ADCs. He has lot of mid game DMG, and even with 2 tank items in late game you deal half of people's hp with third Q. It isn't that he's bad top or jungle, but he's way too good on bot. Like, why would you play irelia jungle when you can play her top? So, he don't have to go bot, but bot's where he shines really

  1. Maybe you didn't use W much in solo lane, tons of toher ppl did.

  2. You can always pick TP and assist Dragon so this point doesn't make much sense.

Right now Mordekaiser has huge limitation that come directly from his kit and not from the state of play. This is what we are angry about, the fact that we CAN'T use a skill unless there is another ally around.
