You can pick Cleanse, Barrier, or Exhaust. No one is forcing you to pick Heal.

Barrier used to be only thing other than Flash ADCs used. People who use ADCs without escapes use Cleanse a lot.

Honestly dude.. it's up to you. you don't have to be forced to pick those.

I'm not meta... I play ADCs that usually have good escapes so I trash the flash and go summoner 14 summoner 21 sometimes or summoner 7 depending on support..

People say they're the best but I guess it's perspective.

You shouldn't be replacing Flash, but Barrier used to be meta and if you're really skilled Ignite can be good for getting an early lead.

If Riot made heal and cleanse into one then ADCs could actually choose cleanse, running cleanse is suicide and not worth in bot lane.

Depending on the enemy team comp Cleanse can be very useful.

No one said you have to pick those, you can take any of them, best flash and heal are the best, just like Teleport and Flash are the best Top lane.

heal is probably only because of the speed boost and some sustain in lane. it wouldnt even need to be picked though, if say dorans blade had more life steal. as it is, it takes quite awhile with just the dorans blade to get hp back after trades. i think the only issue i really have with that is as an adc AA'ing to get hp back is kinda detremental.
