Isn't it obvious?

Currently people are hating on Yasuo because he builds tanky while still dealing insane amounts of damage. However I believe the problem aren't champions like Yasuo, Ekko and Akali, I believe the problem are the items. Items like item 3053 , item 3748 and item 3022 which have insane amounts of hp while still providing A LOT of damage.

You can nerf Yasuo but then the next champion will come along and abuse these items.

TL;DR the problem are the items not the champions

didnt we have the same Issue with item 3124 item 1419 (old one) and champs got nerfed to shit while these items where out? then ofc items got nerfed and champs remained undertuned and garbage. I mean i tried playing some Yi he feels like he does negative dmg unless you build him adc instead of bruiserish

For some reason Riot seems to think that all the champions that weren't a problem before these items are the problem. Then they nerf them and it doesn't work because the items are breaking these champions. Riot suddenly realizes it's the items leaving the champions in the dirt.

i mean Khazix was always meta right? kappa not because they have like 500armor penetration items and anti burst items that give ad and lifesteal

Where do I say to nerf resistances? I'm saying to nerf damage on items which shouldn't have damage to begin with

Frozen Mallet being called OP? That's a first... that right there in itself, proves that you're wrong.

Also, Akali might not necessarily be an issue on her own (without certain items)... but Yasuo DEFINITELY is. Nerfing these items won't stop his ridiculous tank builds and abuse of Warlords and Fervor while stupid tanky, lifestealing all damage done back, and still putting out insane damage with endless mobility.

And if anything, nerf item 3046 passive.

650hp + 40 AD + perma slow.... gl escaping or fighting back (you can't)

And? You're describing to me what an item does. One that is even LAUGHABLE that a person would ever call "OP". That says more about you than anything.

Like I said above, that in itself proves it's the CHAMP abusing it, among other things, NOT the item. Plenty of champs can make use of this "650hp 40 ad perma slow gl escaping/fighting hurhurhur!" and we don't call them OP.

If Yasuo was put in his place, it would be a joke for him to build it, and he would be punished by his enemies for doing so.

youre still on the wrong track.

youre right in a sense, that assassin kits often have high base damage and have never been adjusted to the new bruiser items existence after theyve been introduced.

but its still mainly an issue with the individual champions kits and fervor of battle specifically. i got to be honest here. i hate the mastery. its ridiculously strong compared to the other damage keystones.

but one major issue with it, is that it adds a lot of scaling independent damage. it made all the tanky on hit builds on melee carries at the start of the season possible, and it is what gives adc like yasuo, or certain assassins enough damage into a bruiser build to essentially turn them into better bruisers.

the mastery gives you up to 112 damage on auto attacks at level 18, which is why base damage on so many champions is so high right now that they can easily afford to itemize into bruiser builds.

the bruiser build on akali in specific only came to be after a change to her kit, that allowed her to max her e ability first over her q, and repeatedly spam it without running out of energy.

fizz was able to build bruiser because of his w dealing % missing health damage, giving him a source of reliable damage that doesnt require to build offensive items.

ekko has % missing health damage on his auto attacks aswell. which also allowed him to build full bruiser and deal reliable damage.

in principle this wouldnt be an issue. a lot of bruisers like jax, or darius are designed this way to build tanky and deal reliable damage.

but melee adc and assassins have massive escape mechnisms, mobility and outplay potential in their kit, that set them apart from the average bruiser to compensate for the fact that these champions are normally expected to build squishy. so if theyre suddenly as tanky as brusiers and deal the same damage while simply having a better kit, they become op.

And to further my point, as the above poster noted (dominusx)... the champs were nerfed first and then ALSO the items that made them OP. The problem that Rito has is that they don't pick one, they nerf BOTH. And overnerf the shit out of shit when it's an issue, then don't revert anything.

If anything, this doesn't prove that it was the items OR the champs, since they simply got rid of both potential issues.

Right now as it stands... the only massive imbalance issues I can see are Youmuus/Duskblade on ADCs, as well as Jhin and Ashe being a bit strong and needing nerfs. All of which are being taken care of. And then Tank Akali and Tank Yasuo being an issue.

Akali to a much lesser extent (generally people just feed her no matter what), and by finally nerfing Yasuo might put his overly oppressive BOTH tanky off-meta and assassin meta picks in their place, where they belong. Leaving, the not even remotely OP items like the ones you listed (aside from Phantom Dancer that I mentioned), the **** alone. Since some ACTUAL tanks/bruisers do build them.

If anything those items are UNDERperforming normally, and that's in itself, once again, is proof that it's the champs... not the items.

its not the items. its to a major part masteries like fervor of battle.

especially item 3053 has been specifically designed to be weaker on champions with lower base ad.

yasuo going tanky while dealing reasonable damage is why people are complaining

and that is cause for concern
