How is it any more/less BS than Annie or Brand? Immobile mage with dodgeable Q and if he walks up to E you, poke him.

His shield has such a high CD there is no reason you shouldn't be able to poke it down and punish him if he tries to harass you.

Uhm, after lvl 3, he puts space aids on you sicks his goon squad at you and you have to run because he out dps's you. He's a worse version of Zyra. This isn't even taking into account his ADC. Brand an Annie of notable down times. Malz, on the other hand, does not.

After all riot was hard set on trying to fix the problems malzahar caused, which they totally didn't make up or over exaggerate the significance of, instead they halfassed the rework, and created more problems in the wake of fixing the old ones (lvl 2 dragon NP, constant banshee's NP, triple the maximum kill range NP). Which is funny because the ways in which they fixed the old problems (number changes to Q, E & R) have nothing to do with the new problems he has with his W mechanics and passive. Yet the way in which they changed his mechanics doesn't lend well to actually making adjustments.

Honestly the best course of action for riot to take is probably show a little humility and take him the way of kog maw. Back to a form which doesn't make it impossible for them to adjust the champion.
