7.8 Malzahar voidling change
I feel the change to reducing voidlings to 2 hp highlights a deeper problem with Malzahar without fairly addressing the problem. Simply put, voidlings are too damn strong. So much power has been shifted away from the rest of his kit to voidlings that you have to gimp them in the survival department. This is going to hurt mid Malz way more than it'll help against support Malz.
For example, Corki's autoattack is split into 2 damage sources and already hits 2 hp in 1 attack. In this matchup I was barley able to farm.
Corki could easily elimintate my voidlings and visions have lost a lot of farming potential from the rework. In teamfights
can mow down voidlings without the ADC even meaning to.
Sadly Malzahar has become subordinate to his voidlings instead of the master. Too much of his gameplay and power revolves around them. If voidlings are left unchecked they are too strong and if they are too easily erased Malzahar's damage is lack luster.
Possibly solutions other than #RevertMalz2017 (my personal favorite).
First normalize champion interactions with them. Champions like Corki shouldn't get to double proc a voidling or any other fixed hit pet/object just because his auto attack is structured differently. 1 AA = 1 hit.
Give voidlings less 'HP' only if they are chasing a champion. Perhaps when they frenzy they lose 1 hp in their recklessness.
Let voidlings heal 1 'HP' every time they attack a minion.
Any other ideas to preserve or promote mid Malz and tone down supportlings?
