Holy, new urgot sounds sick.

Edit: false alarm new victor skin, this can't be real.

A Yorick skin too.

(PS - I know the skin team is hard at work on a skin for Yorick. Just let me enjoy my Yorick Skin meme while I can)

Butbutbut ghost and ghouls or castlevania!

Riot stated that they're super confident we're gonna get a Yorick, Viktor and Cassiopeia skin this year and they want us to hold them to that. I'm a tiny bit disappointed it's gonna be yet another techy Viktor skin, I would've preferred something completely different like Elderwood Viktor, but I'm not gonna complain at all.

JaxMoonStealer2 votes

I really wouldn't consider the Arcade skin line techy, at least compared to things like Hextech, Mecha, Project, or Battlecast. However, I get what you mean, I think it would be cool to get something like Elderwood or Master Arcanist Viktor.

A jungling Ionian monk that's a hybrid assassin? I certainly think we don't have one of those already, lol.

Though the new guy sounds less of a "xiaowlin" monk and more of a spiritual caster. I'd expect midlane to be more likely.

I think Riot mentioned that they envisioned Urgot as a "main battle tank" to begin with. And now it seems that they have doubled down on that approach. Actually, the rework makes it sound like he's even more machine than before. Speaking of weapons, and Saw blades, and mechanical death.

I'm more iffy about the Eve rework though. Playing taliyah, I keep finding the proximity to walls required being annoyingly restrictive. (too close to walls). So I worry if it would make her kit feel clunky. And I'm guessing her "wall phase" thing, would have an effect similar to talon's parkour. I think this will go either really well, or a spectacular failure.

Obviously the leak is fake. Where are the shotgun knees?

Eternal7919 votes

Sure, the leak could still be fake, but the shotgun knees could simply be something that was thrown out.

Or it could be his Q.

Am i the only one who feels bad for the people who are just having their creations spoiled by this one asshole?

I mean it just ruins the surprise entirely.

Also, Urgot sounds like he's going to be one of those Siege Tanks from StarCraft.

Maybe, but leaking stuff deliberately isn't unheard of. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be too too difficult to find the leaker.

rtbf2256182411 votes

Exactly why would they do this?

Bârd3 votes

Hype.

rtbf2256182411 votes

Oh yeah, totally. I guess the new champion trailers mean nothing then.

Or when skins get teased (depending on quality) or when they just appear on PBE.

Just listing them out is somehow not inferior to the element of surprise? The f*ck kind of playerbase is this? For me, i don't have anything special to look forward to anymore because i'd rather see the skin/teaser and get excited than just fill in the gaps in my mind. It ruins too much of the effort put into these creations.

Bârd1 votes

And yet, here we are. Leaks drum up hype pretty well.

There's also one other factor: early feedback.

If they leak something and the feedback is unanimously negative, they can just claim it was "a fake leak" and internally drop it. If it's positive, they can take that as a good sign for the project.

rtbf2256182411 votes

Yeah let's ruin people's work in exchange for more hype? Are you serious?

they can just claim it was "a fake leak" and internally drop it

I don't think you understand how long these things take to make. Champions take approx. a year. They should just throw out the new champion cuz this one asshole leaked it? What the actual...?

Bârd1 votes

If they leak gameplay elements early into the cycle, and there is an overwhelmingly negative response, they know they should probably make some changes.

For example, imagine if the Warwick rework had made him into a Twilight werewolf, and they leaked it. The response would be overwhelmingly negative and they can ditch it internally.

rtbf2256182411 votes

You can't just assume they leaked it. That completely disregards actual facts. You don't know anything and you just assume.

You also ignored how i said it ruins most of the work the people who put their effort in completely and just ruins all of their plans on delivery.

Imagine you're a skin artist and you work on an epic skin for 3 months. You make a fantasy for it and the particle effects/visual cohesion work perfectly. You can't wait to show it but you're going to tease it first because you want it to be a surprise since it came out so well and it was all thanks to your own creativity and the help of your colleagues.

But then someone just posts leaks and it's all ruined.

Riot just doesn't need to pull this shit to get money anymore.

As someone who liked Xerath's old lockdown mechanic, I think I'm gonna love Urgot. All we need now is a Mecha Urgot and I will be in love (although battlecast is just about there already)

And I already want to build movespeed Urgot.

Making an incredibly immobile hero in a game where literally everyone that is worth playing at all has at least some form of mobility. Yea nice idea there Riot, sure can't wait to see Urgot be played just as much as he is now. Unless you break him immensely to make up for what a horrifically bad idea it is, there's always that possibility.

Mira Arya Enthe13 votes

literally everyone that is worth playing at all has at least some form of mobility.

There are loads upon loads of immobile champions who are extremely successful in Diamond-Challenger, Pro-play and in Bronze-Gold almost any champion can be effective if you have basic game knowledge. Unless you are talking about Platinum the lane of 'skillz' one tricks who think they are Boxbox, there is no tier of the game in which you cannot effectively play champions like Ashe or Anivia.

FantasySniper1 votes

Meanwhile Caitlyn and Lucian are almost always better than Ashe. And Ahri is always better than Anivia.

Bârd13 votes

Not true.

Ashe is top tier in coordinated play, especially when laning with a damage focused support who can follow up on her. Cait is mediocre due to her lack of a steroid. Lucian shifts from top tier to garbage so often it's hard to keep track.

Ahri and Anivia are picked in polar opposite situations. Ahri is picked when you need to kill a priority target at the beginning of a fight. Anivia has less burst and no mobility, but has much more reliable picks and, unlike Ahri, doesn't have to twiddle her thumbs (feathers?) if there's a bruiser that needs murdering.

"Lack of steroid"

So headshot doesn't matter hunh?

Bârd2 votes

No,

Headshot acts as a damage multiplier over the course of a fight. It's similar to a steroid, but not to be confused with one.

Hell, they aren't even very good as a multiplier until she gets items.

Without AD, the headshots don't do that much damage.

Without AS, the headshots aren't going to occur frequently enough to matter.

Oh so you mean she has an ability that increases the damage her auto attacks deal?

And you don't consider that a steroid? Way to get incredibly stuck on semantics.

Bârd2 votes

A steroid refers solely to stat increases. In the case of ADC's, this means AD, AS, and MS.

Rapid Fire, Rangers Focus, Blood Rush, Final Hour.

Headshot is an empowered attack.

Tumble, Spinning Axes, Clean Cuts, Headshot.
