One possible way of fixing Hexdrinker and Maw

What if, instead of nerfing the actual items Hexdrinker and Maw, Riot buffs Zhonya's to even out the matchup between AD and AP champs? How do they buff Zhonya's? I would say perhaps make it cheaper. Maw of Malmortius currently sells in the shop for 3250, and is no doubt a great deal. The build path is excellent, the item is excellent, there are almost no drawbacks to the item when facing an AP champion. Zhonya's, however, is 3500. This isn't a HUGE price difference, but 250 gold could definitely make the difference for a back. If/when the AD champion manages to get Maw first, they have a huge advantage in lane before the AP champion is able to get Zhonya's. Another idea would be to change the build path for Zhonya's. Maw builds from one extremely useful item already (Hexdrinker) plus another item the champion would probably build anyways, the Serrated Dirk. Not much power is lost and the Serrated Dirk is only 1100. Ez. Zhonya's, on the other hand, builds from Seeker's Armgaurd and Needlessly Large Rod. If you build Armguard first, you sacrifice a lot of power and probably still lose to the AD champion. But if you build Needlessly Large Rod first... oh wait, Needlessly Large Rod isn't very gold efficient. Chances are, unless you're already destroying the AD champion in lane, you won't be able to get Needlessly Large Rod and boots/armor on your first back, whereas the AD champion will easily be able to get Dirk and boots. So. Maybe change the Zhonya's build path to Armguard + Fiendish Codex, or a new pure AP item? This would enable a gold-efficient build path for the AP champion. This, along with a Zhonya's price reduction, could even out the playing field between AD and AP champions, not to mention reallly helping out Zhonya's reliant champions such as Kennen, whose build path right now is really bad. Let me know your opinions.
