Can we stop asking for champions to be nerfed?

I feel like the community honestly thinks that riot just has no idea what goes on in their game, and none of the employees actually play the game. I assure you all, bitching about nerfing X champion is not going to give them any more incentive to change anything. Believe it or not they MADE this game, they know what they are doing and are more than like DOING THEIR JOBS and not purposely trying to piss you guys off. And no amount of upvotes on a circle-jerking QQing thread about OP champions will ever change any of it. PERIOD.

What do you mean " how bad things have been " people have probably been bitching about champions since beta

Ghostcralwer isn't actually the head of the balance department. I believe that's Medlar at the moment.

Have you played a game with Shyvana+item 3710?

Pretty sure you haven't.

Let's say that you own a restaurant. You serve 120some dishes.

Dish #86 has been getting lots of feedback from the community. Almost every single person that tries the dish claims that it has a large abundance of salt, and would do better with less salt.

As a restaurant owner, when you want people to continue coming to your restaurant, would you change your dish to contain less salt? Or would you let it stagnate, until the people realize that they can't do anything about it, and head down to "Bobby McJimbo's Sub Sandwich Shop", where they can put as much, or as little salt on their dish as they'd like.

Sure, you may think that your brand of "Baunjo McDoodle's Burger Shop" may be too big to fail. But what if you're wrong. What if these customers find a new place to eat? Bills pile up. Your family goes hungry. You have to sell the middle child's body parts on the black market.

Your wife leaves you for Bobby McJimbo. Your daughter is a crack addict and your son is in jail. You're buried alive in debt.

All because you ignored the customer's request for less salt.

I have played both as and against Shyvana item 3710 . I have no problem with it because I understand how to beat it and how to play with it. I also realize that no amount of bitching will ever change anything in this game. And why on earth do you think you know more about the game than the people who make it? IF THE DISH IS TOO SALTY, DONT FUCKING EAT IT! Quit telling the chef how to make his dishes.

This analogy assumes that Riot's main source of income is the players. This assumption is false.

So, basically "don't bother complaining if you don't like it, Riot know what they are doing and won't listen anyway."?

Baunjo1 votes

Not the wont listen anyway. Dont even say that. Do you know what the PBE does? Its full of people who test changes to the game, and give feedback! NOT THE BOARDS. So annoying. I could be wrong, but I dont believe a rioter has EVER or atleast is a miracle if so, commented on a thread about champion nerfs.

Sachabot2 votes

They comment if the thread is intelligent and constructive in nature. Hence, they don't comment much.

Nameless Voice1 votes

They don't generally listen to balance-related feedback on the PBE forums either.

You've left it a bit ambiguous if you mean threads just asking for nerfs, or also include the detailed ones that explain why and how they feel a champion is imbalanced and how it could reasonably be rectified.

Please tell me more about your extensive PBE membership and how many times you have been ignored on feedback

So long as people are losing games to enemy players, they will complain that the champion is overpowered.

Thus is the cycle.

Couldn't the same theory in the OP be applied to "Why express any opinion about any part of the game ever? Every single person at Riot knows more about everything than every single player."

Its how insanely biased people are. Personally there are several champions I absolutely despise to have to play against. Never once have I ever complained about this because I understand perfectly well that not every part of the game is meant to be perfect. I will never love playing against Heimerdinger Lux Darius Kennen ZiggsEkko Talon Azir ( to name a few ) But i never EVER post threads complaining about them. If someone has a meaningful change to things other than champions, I respect it even if it sucks, because it is realistic to do so. After all, you really can't realistically hate an item unless you do not understand it. I very intentionally stay away from giving opinions on these champions because I have played them so little, and some even none at all, because personally every word that will come out of my mouth will be complete bullshit BECAUSE I hate them.
