If Voice Comms Are Added, Toxicity Will Decrease Substantially

Just my opinion, in a typical league game i usually flame, however whenever im in discord or such with a few allies, i never say anything demeaning, im pretty sure most of the people who play this game just get frustrated and since they dont have to deal with a confrontation they just type away.

Im pretty sure toxicity is just people venting and this wont happen with voice comms

There are other people who vent out loud instead of typing who would cause some initial problems, but I'd also argue there's also a difference between a Discord server where you are with friends or a community you know vs being with complete strangers you'll never talk to again.

My bigger concern is that it'll be impractical to mute players. In my experience on voice chat, it's not uncommon for someone to only say a MIA instead of ping it. In looking at the LCS it's not uncommon to do the generic blue dot ping (since that's faster) and say what you mean. Combine both of that with having to mute someone and you're completely I'm the dark if you mute a player.

And before you say "people will continue to ping", remember how much of a stir has been going on over auto fill, a "feature" we basically had for 5 years and was only missing 1 year. People get use to the lazier system (only 2 roles, speaking and blue ping) and won't continue to practice the other way (other 3 roles, using all the pings). Take a few videos of pinging today and compare it to 1 year after voice chat comes out, I promise there will be fewer.

Those who don't use voice chat won't use in game voice chat either.

Those that use voice chat with friends will continue to use the resources they use currently.

It's a waste of time and money to put voice chat in game.

It will create new toxicity in the form of if someone don't want to use it and asshats whine and bitch all game at the person who won't use it.

I will not use it with strangers because the player base is mostly trash and I really don't want to listen to entitled little children who think they know everything, yell into my headphones.

You have to set up a discord chat though, that means inviting people, people you might play with again.

There are a lot of people you never want to have the ability to ever contact you.

just think of all of the all chat hate speech and gang ups

It won't drop that much, and a lot of it will just shift from written in game to spoken over VO. Furthermore, it's also going to lead to people flaming each other for things like age and whatnot when things go sour.

Of course it would, especially with a mute feature.

Cry-It are just stupid and can't do anything right.

They seem to mismanage everything.

As a previous console gamer I can back up the idea that toxicity is frequent in voice coms as well, but if you thin about this situation i think the OP's title could be switched to "...Added, the majority will be accepting." based on previous player feedback. People wanted to choose their roles, they got role section now nobody argues with that. People wanted replay systems, they got it and nobody complains about that (excluding the annoying inability to share). People wanted the practice tool and nobody argues with that (excluding the inability to play with others). As shown by those previous demands of players, when Riot actually gives in to them the overall reply is positive. Even if you add the inconsistencies with all those demands they are still widely considered better than not having them implemented in the first place. Will Voice Coms be perfect? 100% no, but I do think it will be widely accepted by the playerbase considering many have asked for it for years especially when Overwatch came out.

I'm the opposite. I usually don't say anything in chat no matter how frustrated I get, but what I say out loud is more than enough to get me lynched in some places.
