Ping: "Need Help!"
This could mean a lot of things in that situation.
It just says "Help"
Help with what?
You could be low and he thinks you are asking him to cover the lane
You could be asking for help because you know the enemy jungler is near
Most of the time it would be clear but that 20% of the time where just both people waste their times would be really annoying.
Ping: "On the way!"
Ping Baron Pit: "Need Help!"
I guess this could work.
Though if you only want them to pressure it and not actually do it then that would lead to some confusion I think.
You got me there. Don't see that as happening outside of a premade, though; I certainly wouldn't trust randos with that kind of setup.
I use that everytime an enemy inhib is down and my team doesn't know what to do.
Most of the time they just go where the most people are but hey... it works sometimes.
Overall I'd agree that removing chat isn't the right move, but TBH unless you have some complex plan that for some reason you trust random bozos with, it's not that necessary. Plus IDK about you, but my personal experience is that for every funny fella I encounter, there's about a dozen others that just flame. Not worth it.
I have played Destiny 2 (a terrible game by the way) which doesn't have a standart chat (seriously it doesn't even have a clan chat).
Even though it is an MMORPG, I felt so lonely in that game.
I could have played the whole game in offline modus and it wouldn't have mattered much.
I think the same would happen in League. If there is no chat whats the difference between playing online or with bots? (the skill level yes and your occasional rager with spam pings but lets say the bots are so advanced that they play like actual humans).
It's the little things like the guy saying "gl hf" at the start of the match followed by the "lol ur mom gay" that puts a little smile on your face.
Take that way and it feels so... empty, kind of hard to describe it.
