@Riot do u still think your game is fine?

Sydney26··34 votes·8,511 views

So Riot u dont listen to the community which is telling with so many threads problems of the game and u ignore it and dont even comment it

  • months and years of dmg creep,
  • paper thin towers,
  • a bunch of overloaded and overpowered champ who are so mobile that immobile champs are useless,
  • snowbally games are decided within the first 5-10 minutes
  • game description says 30-45 minute games (cant remember i had such a game in a long time) ... in reality games are over between minute 5-15

... ignoring community shrunk interest in teh game

https://i.imgur.com/qktd7KI.png

this is what u got ... just look at the numbers ... and than just look at the numbers again and ask yourself if your game is still fine

Fortnite is easier to watch. A team comp is much harder to grasp for a casual spectator than a guy shooting a gun. League is doing fine on twitch, it's just that Fortnite has the casual market spotlight.

Also its the new Kid on the Block, making it more interesting to watch than what you already know.

I give Fortnite 2 or 3 Month max before it will become "just another Shooter" and decline back into line with other Games in Views.

Indeed plus Twitch has exploded in the last few months through various promotions, Ninja and Drake scenario, Twitch Prime being touted. League used to be top viewer ship at about 100k viewers, now Fortnite is top with 200k viewers (or 100k when Ninja isn't on). League is still 100k. The viewer ship before Fortnite (even before Fortnite's explosion) was pretty well distributed over games, now's it's just Fortnite plus other games.

yea and in the future a game will beat fortnite for the spotlight, then the one after that, then the one after that, and so forth

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

We're past the point where Fortnite is just another new game that surges past League only to fade from the public eye two months later. We passed that point long ago.

We're now entering the phase in League's life where it gets beaten out by one new game. Then another. Then another.

There's going to be people playing League for as long as Riot keeps the servers up. But it's prime is behind it.

Epic is rushing out new things as fast as they can to keep people playing their game and once they stop or just add too much random bs then the game is gonna die really fast

It's doing fine.

how can u say its doing fine if it has lots of viewers less than other years

BEK Makadur1 votes

Dude Games don't stay in the spotlight forever. Take WoW as an example it is not nearly as popular especially streams as other games, yet it is way more succesful than most other games.

because it's still #2

Did you really think LOL would survive 10 years as #1?

BR games are the hot thing right now. The genre has exploded and it's getting views. It's easy to get into and watch. You don't need to know much to follow

LOL is getting more and more complex. It has lost that new factor years ago. The game has matured and has long passed it's prime. It's called a decline. Like any genre, it's about stabilizing the game now without trying to make hot headed changes because the loud vocal community.

Fortnite attracts all the autistic drooling kids with the 3 second attention span that follow trends and get bored after playing the same game for over 10 hours... so... yeah. But the real point is that the average oncurrent riot twitch spectators dropped over the past two years. Also you can be biased, since I saw myself Riot having 60k peak last week, you could’ve taken this screenshot when they were broadcasting a replay

So does League right now.

For the people that tried Fortnite they know that Epic listens to their community. And they CHANGE things based on community feedback. Unlike others

gabetheguy6 votes

see it's funny because if you go over to the fortnite forums it's the exact same shit as this game.

SithesisLord1 votes

Epic listens to their community

Gears 4 is a thing and Paragon got cancelled, so it's very clear they don't.

ISuckWithThresh1 votes

how about them personally refunding the money everyone spent on the game ?

????????????

Those numbers are about the same as they've always been. QT's viewership drops sharply when he plays something other than league. Are you really trying to use the most successful streamer of all time of the most accessible game of all time to say that League is dead? Really?

Sydney262 votes

? and why is QT playing other games than league? maybe ask yourself

Because people like to play other games?

LoL has never been super popular on twitch

Teridax684 votes

Are you kidding? For several years, League was the most watched channel on Twitch by a very significant margin. If you check its stats, it still has the highest total views over its lifetime. The fact that it's declined so drastically is not a good sign.

League used to have hundreds of thousands (I'm talking 400-500k) of viewers for the LCS matches back in its glory days. The highest I've seen it recently was just under six digits, but I don't even bother with watching it anymore. I used to love watching LCS matches and I've even watched some of the Season 3 and 4 matches again within the past month. I don't remember the last time that I watched a live game from them though, they tried to make it exciting and now it's just a stomp after a stomp after a stomp with new players that few of us can even recognize. If I say Sneaky, you know what team he is from. If I say Faker, you know it. Doublelift, Bjergsen, so many others. Most players can recognize this. Prior to Faker being benched (mostly because he is upset with how the game is now), I'd heard of Pirean maybe once. I didn't know about the teams being benched and my brother showed me a clip of the team; I had no clue it was SKT T1 because most of their players are just gone.

Riot tried to appeal to the viewers (yet failed miserably), which led to many of the most famed players benching themselves or being benched, further hurting their numbers on Twitch. I wouldn't be shocked if the crowd at the tournaments start to die down as well if they continue to enforce this gameplay that has changed so drastically from their once loyal playerbase.

well to me even 500k-600k isn't much considering LoL has upwards of 40 million registered accounts, it's a drop in the ocean, that's why I say it isn't much because in comparison to the millions of player it really isn't much

The Taco Kat2 votes

For Twitch, that is an insane amount of viewers, not to mention that that is only one site. IIRC they stream off of a few different platforms. Even then, a fair amount of people probably don't watch streams or care for competitive, and 40M accounts includes smurfs, people who only occasionally play, and many other groups of people. The streams are time-oriented and many people are likely to be occupied during matches, so for them to reach half a million viewers consistently and then tank down to 40-90k viewers, they are clearly doing something wrong, especially with the amount of rising complaints and frustrations with Riot at the moment.

If we assume the playerbase has stagnated since back then, that's only 1.25% of the playerbase, but you still need to factor in those time restrictions, and it's likely that at least 50% of the viewers from one stream aren't the same viewers that watched yesterday. There's a fair chance that it was closer to 5-10% of people who would view at least one match live. Nowadays, it has just .25% of the playerbase viewing, and if we give the same ratio of estimated viewers, it's in the 1-2% range.

that pic is most likely when the LCS isn't actually playing any actual games though. aka when it's pre-show or when it's analyst desk.

Actual gameplay time is about 60-80k viewers.

Which is still a drop. I watched LCS in season 4 and very little in season 3. Back in those days, tuning into a match, there was 100k+ viewers on average for game time.

OHminus1 votes

Ninja isn't any fun to watch idk why he gets so many viewers

Is that picture supposed to actually mean something? If you want a more valid comparison, check the numbers during the actual LCS games.

Yet league is consistently top 3 in twitch (sometimes even beating fortnite)... I would kill to have other games I enjoy consistently in the top 3 of twitch

Ragnaveil1 votes

Comparing one game with an audience that is younger (Fortnite) to a audience that has stood the test of time (LoL). Is it gonna take Fortnite dying to finally have dumb posts like this stop?

Skorch1 votes

Oh no, It is no longer game number 1 on twitch. It is only game number 2, doubling every other game that has been relevant for years.

Dead game smh.

Skullgetti1 votes

The thing is, fortnite will die out and die HARD. LoL will continue to exist for many more years

League is still the most played in the world, just the viewership in North America is slipping.

a bunch of overloaded and overpowered champ who are so mobile that immobile champs are useless,

This is actually just circlejerk nonsense. Actual lies and misinformation being thrown around.

Some of the most viable champions currently are immobile

DrMundo Best top laner currently Swain Most popular bot currently Yorick Very popular/successful top rn Ryze TwistedFate Trundle Thresh TahmKench All doing just fine Vladimir One of the best champs in the game currenlty Karthus Taric Have been part of a funnel Alistar Anivia Zyra Brand Incredibly strong bot and brand being played mid again Fiddlesticks sup/jg currently Morgana Probably the best support in the game right now Darius Forever strong

Now formulate a list of popular or even problematic mobile champs because I can keep adding to the one above

It's absolute NONSENSE when people whine about mobile champions in this game. People just want to point fingers and blame anything other than themselves for bad games.

Lots of people who don't play mobile champions will inherently have a more difficult time facing them. They also just don't want to face them and automatically believe mobile champions have an edge over them.

Also, some people don't play mobile champions because they themselves do not do well with tracking or making sudden movements with their champs so its harder for them to follow enemy champs that are dashing or making sudden movements like Leblanc or Zed. They have a harder time predicting those types of champions movements. That's not the fault of the game, its just a flaw of the player.
