has been a complete game of feast or famine. At least half the time, my games are full Diamond. The other half of the time, there's a broad range of skill divisions. Now all the time, games are over before the 25m mark. It doesn't matter which way you present it. This should have been a hard reset. This year was the golden year to smurf and to climb. This is supposed to be a queue that encourages teamwork, but I've not felt more alienated from my team than I have now. I've felt closer to people rushing to get Diamond this season than in this queue.

I wanted to enter into a queue and quickly be decided where my mmr is at. Instead, I get placed with a wide variety of skill levels. For example, I played in a 20m game where we got both inhibitors. It's just a roflstomp.

You do realize what people (yourself included) are describing sounds like a hard reset, right? At the very least a harder reset. With a hard reset, a Bronze 5 player has the same MMR as a Challenger player until they both play enough games for the system to sort it out.

What doesn't make sense to me is why Flex Queue didn't use Dynamic Queue's MMR, having Solo/Duo Queue start fresh.

Kinda what I was gonna say, but I was not sure if he said he wanted a hard reset or if he said it is a hard reset because "This should have been a hard reset." could have been, shouldnt

It's not a hard reset, though. I'm still playing with mostly Diamonds. That's less than a percentage of the game population.

It's not a hard reset, though. I'm still playing with mostly Diamonds. That's less than a percentage of the game population.

This is between a hard and soft reset. more on the hard side, I am in silver and in all my flex games I have faced plat and diamonds. It will take some time for the MMR to even back out, but a hard reset is a horrible idea. I am very sure that low elo players do not want to face diamonds for half a season because the pre season mmr was hard reset.

It already is like a hard reset, it's a fresh ladder that just grabs whoever it finds and matches them. So, an actual reset wouldn't help these people that are complaining about it anyway (lol) cause it'd still be the same.

This is what essentially Ranked 5s Teams were anyway, so this Queue is just made to kind of replace them.

You do understand that this is still preseason and your rank will not weep any rewards once S7 starts correct? This is bascially a way for riot to start S7 flex Q with disparity rather than everyone starting around 1200 mmr like a hard reset once the real season starts.

This month of flex queue influences next season's rank. It was in the patch notes.

It influences just like solo rank in preseason does. You can change your mmr, very slightly, but in the end it will be reset and D2+ mmr gets placed p1 and everyone after that gets placed lower etc.. Again its just so once the season actually starts s5-s1 wont be populated with everyone and there will be some range of mmr.

It happens every season its just this one everyone starts with a lower mmr that they can influence slightly in preseason. Why would riot allow peoples preseason rank, when most high elo people take a break, allow lower elos to place higher haha

It definitely could be, but the quality of the queue is just rough. I don't understand how the queue decides who plays against who.

It doesn't. It's just grabbing whoever it finds right now. It's a new ladder that's trying to build up the MMR for everyone that plays it.

Soon-ish...you know after people play enough matches and it gets the right feeling for them and they move up/down. Of course with the season start coming next month it will still be roughly the same for a bit though as everyone will just start over for a short time.

In 3v3 Flex Queue, I'm noticing that 90% of my games I'm paired with someone who is very low silver with their 3v3 ranking. I'm Gold 1. HUGE skill difference. I don't care if they're Diamond in 5's, these guys are absolutely clueless with this map. I always check my teammates, and it's disturbing how often I'm paired with a Silver 5 (and no, they're not a duo with the other guy).

That's most likely because your MMR is a lot lower then it should be. My matches have been pretty balanced flex 3v3.
