I just played a ranked flex game with my friends where riots matchmaking thought it would be a good idea for us to play against a team that are basically all in high plat while we are in low gold high silver... How is this fair!?! If we are a team with around gold 5 MMR shouldn't we play against a team with a similar mmr instead of one that has a Diamond 5 mmr. Rito pls
Didn't look into it closely, but it's important to remember ranked solo/duo mmr is different from ranked flex mmr since they're different queues, and similarly the ranks are different. It's quite common for relatively high ranking solo/duo players to be low rank and/or low mmr in flex, which can result in some spicy matches that are in fact "fair" in terms of flex mmr.
It's one of those things that'd fix itself if people all took flex seriously andd got their mmrs to levels appropriate to their skill, but a lot of people more or less ignore it, or treat it like normals and screw around a lot.
