TO ALL LEAGUE PLAYERS READING BOARDS:Don't make complaining topics about unbalance in preseason pls.

Yi Bencheikh··40 votes·1,376 views

We all experienced the pre season 5 , 6 and 7 and how horrible it was , and so will pre-season 8 nothing new tbh

I am still surprised about how players know preseason is going to be unbalanced as hell , yet they still make " OMG RITO PRESEASON 8 SUXX WTFFF NERF THIS NERF THAT OMG WHY ??? " kind of topics.

I disagree. Making the over hyped, overemotional threads is stupid. Making threads detailing imbalances and suggestions on what to change is necessary and helpful to the balance team to see what public perception is.

Alright, so here's my approach: Nerf all enchanters again because they're still overbearing at decent elo. Annnddd.. also nerf rakan, xayah, twitch, kogmaw and varus before this season starts.

AirKingNeo2 votes

Hold on, Varus doesn't need a nerf.

Also you forget to mention tank nerfs, like Thornmail and Stoneplate nerfs.

I agree and disagree. Providing positive feedback is not at all stupid (if that's what you're referring to), it helps Riot to see what people like and why so that they can provide more enjoyable content for the future. In addition, it is encouraging to see the customer enjoying your product. It would be disheartening to visit the boards if it was only negative feedback (constructive or not).

Providing constructive criticism is also great because it details WHY someone does not like something. Complaining is less useful. Saying "Dark Harvest should never have existed" does not help the balance team one bit beyond letting them know one person dislikes it. The boards are also not a good place for Riot to get a general consensus of things. The amount of people hear is nowhere close to the actual player base, negative opinions are likely to get more attention than positive ones since people do not usually take the time to praise something but will take the time to try to make a change if they dislike something, and the boards can be an echo chamber where multiple people will hold to an opinion not based on fact or logic (like when a bunch of people were convinced most people disliked Galio's rework when in actuality it was one of Riot's most well received). Determining general consensus is best left to surveys, the boards are more useful to Riot when topics include logic and reasoning.

so riot knows what to change? if we stop information flow the game dies.

Depends, feedback thread that are well written and maybe some things they'd like to be changed then sure, but if it sounds like a six year old crying then no.

A thread with something like "nerf x, JUST DO IT RIOT PLS!" no, heck even some threads with "Nerf x" with the context of just "^" reach the front page for some reason.

Yi Bencheikh4 votes

as the guy said we need more well written topics from very well matured people analyzing stuff , not just random people throwing slurs and insults and swearing at riot in every sentence and using alot of caps.

Durzaka10 votes

I thoroughly disagree.

This is the most important time to make complaints and point out imbalance.

The amount of change that is occurring is fucking massive. And Riot is going to need to respond fast and accurate to the shit show that is going to follow. The complaints are key to finding the problems.

Read his example, he's talking about the "OMG RITO PRESEASON 8 SUXX WTFFF NERF THIS NERF THAT OMG WHY ???" topics. They don't help Riot fix the game at all because they're just complaining, not giving constructive criticism. If they instead said "This feature is OP and here's why" and then gave examples on why it's OP that's infinitely more useful than straight up complaining.

actually that is still information whether its constructive or not, or doesn't explain much, riot at least knows if there are 10+ topics about it that something is off. you are allowed to rant, vent or criticise etc on the boards. what i mean is people really don't complain about it after being destroyed by X champ once, but several times so they get frustrated.

so we can safely say there is always a pattern. ofcourse its better to keep it clean and give reason and logic, but everone's different^^ and in a state of anger and frustration calrity is gone .-.

i'd say there are bigger problems than complaints and rants on the boards though, it appears lots of people have the reading comprehension of a goldfish.... than there are trolls mass dowvoting good topics into oblivion. or people want to discuss facts O.o or flat out deny facts. people mass bullying people on the boards, stuff like that should be close watched if you ask me, but it appears lots of people get away with ganging up, since they don't swear.

Durzaka1 votes

Actually, that can be helpful information, regardless.

Just for example: if Dark Harvest is taken by like 75% of people, and the boards are exploding by people shouting what you said, thats a pretty good correlation and indicator that something is wrong.

You can make all the PSA you want but let's be honest there's gonna be a thread up there on the front page complaining about something with like 80+ upvotes.

Yi Bencheikh1 votes

yeah indeed it's not like they'll learn anyway.

notice me Sin pi1 votes

nah they did learn that preseason is a good time to farm upvotes over the past few years so they will make more PSAs during preseason

AirKingNeo3 votes

I'll continue to complain about problems not created by preseason, like ADCs and Supports and Tanks being broken as fuck.

Bârd3 votes

If something's fucked, we can't risk Riot not fixing it.

Normally, when we enter preseason, we are at the peak of a Season's balanced potential. For example, before Pre-S6 Season 5 was ok, before Pre-S7 season 6 was better than it was, and so on...

But this year, its been the exact opposite: we had the impression the whole year that every patch that riot made was meant to make the game even more unplayable, and right now we are the peak of the game's worst state since its creation, and yet its going to be even worse with the Pre-Season

Even if you tell people that its normal for a Pre-Season to be unbalanced, it is clearly not "normal" to change season while the one we in is still the worst era LoL has ever experienced. So yeah, we definitely should let people complain, because its only by complaining about what upsets us RIght now that we'll make Rito wake up from their 8 months long Hibernation

Honestly if people just made calm, rational posts that start a discussion, not a rage post, than it's likely to go a lot further. People on the boards and likewise, Riot, cannot make a response to a person just looking to rage and pick a fight. Please just need to chill a bit and make rational discussions to move the dialogue forward. That's how we point out the issues and get to the bottom of them.

The irony of this post.

Yasuo Zed Will still be unbalanced and broken preseason or no. I just hope it isnt't even worse, and that Riot moves quickly on needed changes.

Rengar Top Lane2 votes

Expect a shit ton of threads from me, and most likely other true Rengar mains, if Rengar isn't looked at into this season. Especially if he's looked into and we still don't enjoy him after. Tired of all this damn swimming, one shotting with a single aa, surviving a 2-3k burst and healing all of it back up, and actually rewards for hunting enemies.

Give us back the damn SAVAGERY we played Rengar for.

A descriptive thread about balance issues without angry emotions in it but only LOGIC is how we need to discuss with Riot Games Balance Team all the time.

Nexus is unbalanced. Literally first team to kill Nexus has 100% win rate. Nexus needs balanced!

So we don't want to have riot balance pre-season at all?

kalima9941 votes

preseason sucks, season sucks, what's the difference?

Rozzeta1 votes

Please ignore OP and provide feedback as required. Though remember the seriousness whith which your complain will be taken is inversely proportional to how much you hyperbole the issue, or outright insult balance team

Seems OP has forgotten that we when INTO the seasons 5, 6 and 7 still carrying glaring balance problems from pre-season.

Without feedback, how will Riot know what to change?

Yi Bencheikh1 votes

" OMG WTF FUCK YOUR RIOT SHITTY COMPANY WHY BUFF X CHAMP " Is not a feedback .
