Seriously tho, i made this thread for three reasons.

- To talk about the unprecedented buff kass will receive
- A suggestion id like you to try out in a play test.
1.A: Thank you Meddler, your consistencies and presence on the boards, with a slight goofy yet serious attitude is not unnoticed. I appreciate it and I can tell you feel us to a point that you want to communicate a lot with us and appreciate our concerns and learn from some of our ideas as we learn from you aswell.
2.B: Next patch, i presume Kass will receive an AP ratio on his R. This is an unprecedented buff Meddler. Im a Kass main with over 1k games with him. Ive seen/played him since season 2 and analysed him, and talked about him in many thread and know all about him and the reasons of why he got into a huge amount of troubles. I wont go in details about what happened in season 2 (it wasnt completely his fault mind you) But with the nerfs of ap mid laners, removal of force of nature and 1.2k warmog item, he was going to become a major serial killer for sure afterwards.
Now to business: For the first time, Kass will have access to 4 abilities that does dmg. Albeit two of them are conditional. I think its risky (i even would have rather ed see his W switched completely to his R but still keep the W active). His dmg with this buff will put him finally to a spot where he will be doing dmg like leblanc and fizz and compensate for his lack of base dmg and lowered ap ratios.
Im not sure however that will be enough, i may be wrong, but i dont think it will be.
The reason i believe so is this: Kassadin has two thematics. Anti-mage (which is effective early game) and assassin (which is effective late game) veigar gets incredible strenght in both his own power and the power of the mages he kills--with penalties in both mobility and overall cc/delays. His thematic is relevant the entire game since its dependant on his scaling, items and the enemy's And galio in who gets stronger the more MR he gets.
Kassadin thematics change as the game flows. I think its a mistake. Im ok with him not being very assassin like early. But i dont think he should not be an anti mage after the laning phase.
Lets face it, his shield is underwhelming and you face 5 enemies with all sort of dmg that will want to kill you and succeed at that.
I was giving the exemple to someone once that fizz and kat who receives MR scaling, would be more MR resistant than kass due to their build patterns(magic pen heavy) and would flat out deal true dmg to kass if it wasnt for his passive. while they would be more resistant to his dmg. It sucks really.
Also, this next patch buff also reinforce kassadin to build
which is also long to scale. (and very expensive mind you)
3.C: Here is something i want you to try out. In a play test and tell me what you think.
-Context: Assassins and anti mages were always kept in line by tanks and bruisers. Anti mages keep mages in lines. However, since they are mostly unpopular, and suboptimal to mages (kit, athenes nerf for galio etc..) they dont keep anyone in line as they used to. Then ap assassins and mages were hard to balance.(s3-4-5) KAssadin had a tool to keep them all in line and were not out of control all season 2 when he could counter pick them.
HIS SILENCE
Now i understand the concerns. But hear me out. Remove his Q shield. Giving him more weakness early. Add his silence for 1sec. add his MR scaling for his mid game. Watch these mages getting more in line while kass still is open to lane dangers.
1 sec silence doesnt have to be on Q either. But lets pretend it is. Adcs usually have the time to use an escape when they see me or see the Q delay, cast time and missile speed coming their way. after wards-- if i decide to go in-they usually have the heath and sustain to survive my first combo burst. Current kassadin full build cannot 100-0 a full build ADC. it cannot be done ive made the math and tried it hundreds of times. We all know what happen to kassadin when he goes in and doesnt burst.
So what im saying essentially here is that: you need not to worry anymore in this meta; item builds (mikaels didnt exist back then, and QSS' were rare buy) , champs picked and amount are greater today than season2--he has threats everywhere; 1 sec is far from being oppressive and adcs wont be affected since its a soft CC and usually have time to react to it or destroy my ass if i dont kill them outright. (with their support CC heal or wtv on top of it)
The good thing it will do however is that it WILL make him a thematic anti mage all game. It will interrupt their combo or channeling, keep them quiet JUST A LITTLE (1 sec), and give a little time for kass to do his job and counter them.
So you get both a trade off(he loses Q shield, gains MR scaling and a tiny silence) And a more balanced mid lane as he will be there to keep these immobile or ap assassin bastards in line!
tell me you will try this Meddler, just to see if my idea is good. nothing to lose, just more knowledge for us and you.
P.S: remember, it doesnt have to be on his Q, and the lenght can be changed. his joke about his mother will be funny! and im also not english and im dyslexic. It was rough to write this sorry.
EDIT:
actually. the reasoning goes beyond that too. People still thought he was massively strong after they removed silence. The issue was much more deeper than kassadin alone. It was his opponents, items available to him and to counter him and the amount of champions in the game that could keep him in line. His silence was never actually his issue cause if it was they would have stopped nerfing him as soon as they removed it. But then they did 10 nerfs afterwards.
As for the stacks. he always had it. I made a calculation that old kass at 5 jumps ysed 1500 mana and the new one used 1550 mana. its pretty even. Its just the range that was nerfed that is the clear difference.
EDIT 2: I think it would make sense that have a silence that triggers when the enemy has AP and scales with the enemy AP instead.

would be my go to build for a sweet 3,663 mana and 904 AP) he'll scale even better than normal.
