DEAR @RIOT, Did you guys re-implement the MMR boost thing for duos?

Remember back in the day matchmaking actually artificially elevated your total duo MMR because you were a duo?

Then you got rid of that last season for DQ.

Has it come back now with this season's solo Q?

Or I can I bring a friend without fucking myself?

Why wouldn't they have re-implemented it? Duo queue gives a tactical advantage that needs to be accounted for in matchmaking.

Well they removed it for DQ so that's why I'm asking.

No, they didn't. Where was something like that posted? They made it so that premades more than 3 meant more depending on how many there were. For the first few days any premade over 2 had almost the same handicap so people were getting rolled by 3,4, and 5 mans. They didn't remove it, they improved the scaling.

They did remove it.

It was like on a web page about all the changes.

A link would be more helpful, since I'm more than sure they didn't.

I know for a fact they did.

I will now spend 2 minutes looking it up for you.

Anymore than that and you have to gift me RP for my time.

It actually only took 18 seconds.

You are a lazy shit.

I didn't look it up at all because I was so sure about it. However, if you insist, I shall research it.

The change you're referring to was indeed done last pre-season, but they reverted it during last season due to instanced of unfair matchmaking and winrates indicating that more games were won simply by queueing up together (obvious reason really). http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/features/dynamic-queue-and-future-league You can't just stop the investigation at the first link... There's actually a series of such tweaks throughout last year to tweak matchmaking.

tldr: looks like we were both right. I apologize for doubting that it ever happened.

Can you find me the revert text in your link? I don't see it anywhere.

Sure thing bro:

Premades and fairness:

We’re also tackling match quality because games featuring premades versus non-premades are unfair, even if they are rare. Delving into the numbers, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Plat solos, duos, and trios battle a five-player premade in about 1 game out of 1000 (slightly more often in Plat). In Diamond, the odds of encountering a full premade jump to 1 in 150, and then skyrockets in Masters+, where players encounter a five-stack as often as 1 in 25 games. Despite being relatively uncommon below Diamond, the winrates look like this overall: [insert winrate graph] We’ll be adjusting premade handicaps further to even the playing field between premades and non-premades.

this mmr logic is tragic i am playing with my friend gold 3 and i am gold 5 and still dropping. even with plat it drops ffs. i have silver 3 mmr and i cant even go more that 30 points on gold v . im all the time with the same team with unranked and silver 4. well i hope i was on silver 5 to play with golds for the mmr tactics .[zombie-brand-facepalm]

I would like to see it stay removed because it seems like an unsound idea.

Just match duos vs duos and leave the mmr thing out.

Because you don't know whose going to be vs who, and in this game the biggest piece of shit loses the match regardless of how well you and your friend from kindergarden can communicate on discord.

two games ago i went against duo. when to op.gg they have 80% winrate over 20 games. cool stuff right. thats the pattern with every dedicated duo queuers. they always have 70% winrate if they do it regularly. its always a jungler and a laner

if you have a laner that invades the other jg with you and wards enemy jg for you on demand. there is no fucking thing the enemy jungler can do to beat yu

I see your point, but for every like tag team champion duo there are 2 clowns who go to middle school together and are playing supp and top. Is it fair for the rest of us to have to take an MMR penalty for them?

Thanks!

That seems to be in reference to a certain situation pertaining to the nature of DQ premades vs non premades (groups of 5 vs groups of 3).

The question I'm asking is are we back to ye olde system from prior to DQ.
