Zoe: CertainlyT's Response to Yasuo
Disclaimer: This is a bit of an unpopular opinion. If you disagree, I'd love it if you'd comment below instead of down-voting me to the depths of the void!
Hey guys, I'm SUPER excited for Zoe!
While I was watching the teaser and scrolling through all those #hate comments, I think I realized something. CertainlyT is hated by a large amount of the community for designing Yasuo, and I think Zoe is his way of responding to that hate. If you look at her kit, I'm pretty sure she'll end up being one of Yasuo's hardest counters. Here's why:
1: She counters wind wall. Her ricochet mechanics make it harder to use windwall against her. Yes, I know, if you look closely, there are indicators of where this ability will land, but I still think it will make windwall less effective against her. Just think about it, Zoe can aim the bubble to go behind him, aiming for the side opposite of where she is. It seems really counterintuitive to put a windwall facing the opposite direction of your opponent, and even if Yasuo manages to block the ricochet bubble, he's left exposed to Zoe's other abilities.
2: She can outmaneuver him. Her portals look pretty powerful. She can jump around the map, forcing Yas to try to keep up, using up his E cooldowns on minions, or to just give up. A good Portal --> Ricochet combo would almost guarantee some decent damage or at least bait his W. Another, painfully obvious, but important thing to add is that she can effortlessly dodge his tornado whenever the **** she pleases. That's NICE
3: She can hard CC him whenever. If Yasuo is getting a little to aggro (as Yasuo does), she can just put him to sleep. Nighty night! No more tornadoes for you, ponytailed dingus!
Why is this important? CertainlyT hears your incessant hate. Y'all should be glad he's still at Rito designing. Without him and his (I'll admit, pretty annoying at times) influence, the game wouldn't be quite as creative as it is today. We should be happy that a champion is being built on summoner spells, something COMPLETELY new! This is new territory, another frontier, and I think we should welcome this exploration with open arms. Let's start our adventure with positivity; I mean what's the point of complaining about something we haven't even seen yet (hint hint)?
Thanks for reading, have a nice 6 days until sparkles happen!
