Can we PLEASE set a benchmark for the maximum length of time "SOON" can mean??

In the AUGUST roadmap, Rito said that the colorful mage would be coming SOON. It's been months. This is not soon, I'm going fucking insane. So please, I beg of you (meddler), lets make it a rule that in order to use the word "soon" the thing you're referring to can't be any more than 4 weeks away.

Here are some other words that you convey the long-ass time we'll need to wait: -"The colorful mage will come out when the sun freezes over." -"The next rework will be released when meddler stops saying "soon" (he will never stop)" -"The chain champ shall be released whenever the fuck i feel like it, just to torture you guys." -"Rito's next game will be teased NOT SOONLY."

Thank you for coming to my tedtalk

-PS: I love you guys, but damn this hurts. I need the mage. [zombie-nunu-bummed]

I remember that in the world broadcast they said that they new champion will be available in the ALL STARS event so all start is will start around the end of November or the first days of december. So i guess soon is next week after the ranked season ends. Maybe im wrong and tomorrow we will have a teaser at least, who knows. After all Riot Game_s_ is a tiny indie company.

I'm guessing you don't like movie trailers either. "Coming soon to a theater near you!" but the release dates are usually 6+ months out.

This is actually a good point. Probably belongs in general instead of memes, but really, "soon" should not mean "after the end of the season."

Soon is a relative word. For a comet that takes 70 years to pass near earth, 10 years is soon. For a movie that's been worked on for three years, a few months is soon. But situations where the thing you're waiting for is just something to watch, it makes little difference aside from adjusting your schedule to see it.

For League though, our soon is the next patch with pertinent changes. Which differs from two to even six weeks, but is hardly ever as long as two months.

Its a problem with gaming in general. Loads of devs will pull this word, and i understand they wouldn't want to give us a set date because when it comes and nothing is given people will complain. But at the same time it seems like (at least to some) that they really don't care. With most jobs there has to be a set date on a project, but in the cases of game devs it seems like a Just release it whenever!
