The problem with Zed and his ridiculous ban rates
I'm sure people will disagree with me, but oh well we won't get anywhere without disagreeing on something.
I believe that the big problem about Zed is how easy it is to find success on him. Zed's kit is supposed to be very difficult, but realistically any player can go into a game as him and use his point and click ult, land a rather obnoxious skillshot, and then auto someone, possibly throwing in a W and E in the mix. Now yes this won't kill anyone early and snowball, but later this is well enough to kill an adc without QSS. It's too easy to use his kit to its main purpose of assassinating a carry because you don't need to do much to watch a carry pop for half their health bar and die.
Early game is another monster of its own. Everyone knows Zed has amazing lane poke with his Q and especially with a face roll W E Q in some varying order. Beginner Zed players can use this to just poke the enemy out of lane or at least weaken them for a post-6 all-in. It's not that hard to land Zed's Q, especially in lower elos where people are more likely to be beginner Zeds than pro Zeds. It's just a simple fat skillshot with very little effect on his energy because, well, it's energy, it regens fast. And it does a good 100 damage at rank 2 on a 5 second cooldown. One would hope someone could land at least a couple of Zed Q's in lane.
I do like Zed's kit and the uniqueness of his play style around his shadows, but right now it doesn't take much skill in using your shadows to be effectuve. I'm not smart so I don't know how anything could be done about this or if it's even the right idea. For all I know it could just be all the AD items are overtuned in his favor.
I'm sure people will downvote, but at least comment on what you think the problems with Zed are that caused his ban rates to reach 60%+.
= never die in lane. He is too safe. He can cs too easily. Resourceless. There just doesn't seem to be any trade off for his high poke, burst, and mobility.
