[Suggestion] Leader Designation

I would like to share with you an idea I've been thinking of for a while. I will build this thread as a Q&A to make sure I try to answer the most questions possible you guys might come up with. Finally, please consider reading the whole thread before voting since I will cover a lot of aspects of the suggestion until the end of it.

**What is the Leader Designation? ** It is a vote system that takes place during a Summoner's Rift game to allow a specific player in the team to become the Leader. It the vote passes, a little gold star appears before his summoner's name in-game. This gold star can only be seen by team mates.

What is the use of it? The Leader Designation's goal is to offer a tool for teams to make sure everyone agrees on who should make the calls from mid game, especially when team fights are about to become recurrent.

How can this system be beneficial for a team? If 4 players agree on choosing the same player as their leader, there is a mutual consent among the team that can be beneficial when times comes to engage a small fight, a team fight, take an objective or elaborate another strategy. Sure, there will always be unforeseen events during a game, such as getting caught, not realizing a lane is being pushed hard by winnions, etc. Since the Leader has the trust of his team mates, they will listen to how the leader suggest to react. This result in better communication between the team and a more focused strategy. How many games have we played where 4 players tries a very efficient strategy, but the 5th one is away farming or doing something else and not listening. With this vote system, if a leader is chosen, chances are these players becomes more solid as a team because of this consent.

How is it established in game? Like the surrender vote system appears at 20:00 during a game, the Leader Designation vote system would appear at 25:00 (or 30:00). A player can't vote for himself, but can vote for any of the other players. Once a vote is opened, the 3 other players MUST agree on that vote in order for the Leader Designation vote to pass. Again, if a vote is opened for player X, this player can't vote for himself.

How do player agrees on designating a specific player to become the leader and make the most important calls? It's not rare to see a dominant Top Player or Jungler win his lane and/or have a very important advantage over their opponents. Sometimes, it is a very durable champion that takes good decisions, makes every gank profitable, knows when to take objectives and always analyze the situation to pick his fights in an intelligent way. Other times, it can be a champion with a very reliable team fight initiation move that turns every team fights in your favor. What those 2 players have in common is that they won the trust of their team mates. Their team mates see in this person a player that has the ability to take choices that have positive consequences for the game most of the time.

Can you give some unsorted info?

• Leader Designation vote is enabled at 25:00 (or 30:00)
• All other 3 players must agree on the pick vote to make it pass
• The chosen person can't vote while the vote is going on, and a player can't start a vote on himself/herself
• A little gold star appears next to the left of his/her summoner's name in game and this gold star can only be seen by team mates
• Once a Leader is chosen, he can't be demoted from this designation
• If a vote is about to pass, the chosen person can still refuse the designation
• It is a totally secondary and optional system, which means teams don't have to choose a leader if they don't feel like doing it
• Each vote lasts 60 seconds and players have a total of 2 votes, with a "cooldown" of 90 seconds between each votes.

Final note: Don't get me wrong, this suggestion isn't to make a player look like he is more important than the others. We all know every player has a huge contribution to make in order to win a game, and without it, chances of winning go down drastically. What I'm trying to suggest tho is a tool for players to make this consent more clear about who is the best player to make calls, especially when time comes to team fights and important objectives. I believe that if a player is promoted to Leader, more solidarity can appear within a team, as well as less confusion. And since it's completely optional, players who don't see any advantage in it can just ignore it and keep playing.
