BlitzCrank's 30 Second Cooldown Ult. Let's talk about that.

At the very least Riot should consider increasing it just a bit. Most supports have 90 second cool-down's at rank 1 on their ultimate's and take way more skill/knowledge/mechanics/ and just general overall experience. It's obvious math but I'll say it anyway and use a basic comparison. Leona's Ult is up every 90 Seconds while blitzcranks is up every 30. That's 3 times as much pressure. That's every single teamfight and every single skirmish post 6. No other champion has that in the entire game. You may want to use Nidalee, Jayce and Elise as Exceptions but comparable to supports their "summoners" require a lot more knowhow/work on how to fully utilize their abilities I feel that this is the most unhealthy part of his kit and one of the best way's to give a opposing players a window of opportunity.

I don't think it's too much to ask of blitz players to show what they're made of/raise the bar a little bit. This would be a perfect way to separate the good, the bad, and the great.

Whether or not you want to call Blitz a "support champ" The fact of the matter is that's the role where he's played with the most success.

The absurdly low cool down on his ultimate let's him pick a fight whenever he damn well pleases. So if he get's a kill/assist by the time he's back to lane he'll have it up again. I think I speak for most of the community losing lane to a blitz-crank is nearly impossible to turn around. Even if you can dodge 99 out of 100 of those hooks the last 1 will kill you.

To summarize it playing against the champ all too often is suffocating. That's what I want changed about him. Just a larger window for counter-play. What I posted here seemed to me to be the most reasonable suggestion without crippling the champion.

As far as what you say about the silence; It's more often then not enough time to secure the kill. If you have a better idea[s] then let me know.

It's like Annie. Is she a traditional support? No. Is she an effective support? Hell yes.

No point in lying about it :/

Comparing Blitz's AOE Silence/Damage (in an area around him) to Leona's ranged AOE/Slowing ultimate.

Sorry, not seeing the valid comparison.

Blitzcrank's ult does a little bit of damage, but is a negligible silence that, if he uses it at the wrong time, his opponents have plenty of opportunity to escape. Of all the things you COULD point out that are "problematic" about Blitz, his ult is the least of them. Just because you can't lane against him, doesn't mean he needs a nerfed. The dude hasn't been buffed in ages, the meta has simply shifted and because he is FOTM and you can't dodge hooks you think he needs nerfs.

That is simply, not the case.

Dear Starlighte, I did not appreciate your rude and crude assumptions of my in game performance. What you did was basically the equivalent to high school name calling. Grow up man. I listed a rather detailed explanation on my thoughts and feelings about what could be done to improve the champ's in game state.

All you did was assume I can't lane against him and then second you just accuse me of having bad mechanics overall and based on both of those assumptions you also assumed that was the reason I started this thread. Sir all you've done is make an ass out of yourself.

Oh and since when was he flavor of the month? He's been a consistent pick in bot lane for AGES. I didn't see his pick rate jump up 20% in the last month. Also what about his ban rate? Has that suddenly jumped to the top 5? OH WAIT, It hasn't. So what criteria are you using to classify him as FOTM [Flavor Of The Month]

I don't know about you man but I tend to back up my thoughts and feelings with actual statistics/factual information. Not go around pointing fingers/making random assumptions at/towards people on the message board who express their thoughts in an appropriate way by calling them bad at the game/ingame scenarios without ANY evidence to back it up.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize I had to have an opinion that matched your own or was at the very least, sympathetic to your own. How silly of me, a filthy pleb on the internet, to believe that I could have a differing opinion, and voice it in the same venue as your own opinion.

I am happy to make an ass of myself, as I am not the one asking for help in this particular instance. I gave you an explanation as to why your idea was, at its core, faulty. If you do not like my idea, great! I encourage you to think for yourself in League as well as in life. But attacking me, the person, and suggesting that what I offered to you was invalid because you believe I am making an ass of myself or am a bully, is what we, in the civilized world, call "Ad Hominem" look it up, it's pretty important for debate.

FotM has a few factors involved. Elo, buffs/nerfs of the surrounding ecosystem, buffs/nerfs of the direct champion, LCS, and many more exciting factors. So, in Bronze and Silver he may have maintained a high pick rate (similar to Master Easy or ROFakalicopter) but that does not mean that his trend is a consistent trend. That, actually, by definition, is contrary to what FotM describes, which is a sudden spike in popularity that will, undoubtedly, taper off eventually back to prior levels. FotM is also a misnomer by itself, and can often suggest something smaller than reality. An example of FotM is Renekton since his release. Renekton has been an incredibly strong pick in top lane for an incredibly long period of time, and could be considered FotM, the "Month" part being the misnomer.

I'll simply point out that I never once suggested you were bad, simply that you had an inability to dodge hooks. Perhaps it is your latency, perhaps it is your reaction speed, perhaps its just a faulty wire in your computer that makes your mouse clicks a few MS behind everyone else's. Regardless the reason, the fact stands that you are trying to make an invalid comparison between Blitzcrank and other similar, but not interchangeable champions. Just because I repudiated your suggestion, does not mean I am a bad guy. Simply giving my advice, which you may or may not take if you so choose, as I am not responsible for that factor of this conversation. What I am responsible for, is my opinion, which has been given much to your chagrin apparently.

Most support ults also have actual cc tied to it besides a channel interrupter like silence. Or you know, the ability to turn the tide of the fight.

The silence is very much actual CC. It's not impressive on its own, no, but it complements his chain of CC perfectly.

hardly, most people use it for the burst than the 0.5 second silence.

Champions have received balance changes based on where they were played as opposed to what they were designed for. Annie did receive changes when she was a dominant support. Such as having her passive scale through the game and having lower bases with higher scaling.

I don't feel like his R is the problem other than he doesn't really need the .5 second silence or the 1 second knockup on his E. Either or both could be nerfed and he would still be fine, just a lot easier to tolerate and handle.

BlitzCrank's 30 Second Cooldown Ult. Let's talk about that.

The static field passive is disabled when the ability is on cooldown.

There would be no point in having the static field passive effect if the cooldown is so high it's effectivly always on cooldown.

Also:

Leona's Ult is up every 90 Seconds while blitzcranks is up every 30.

Leona's ult has significantly more range, applies stronger CC, applies CC for longer, and it's entire purpose is the active. Blitzcrank's ult is centered around himself and it's only CC application is a 0.5 second silence. It's also worth pointing out Cho'Gath's Rupture is more powerful than Leona's rank 1 and 2 ultimate.

Not all skills are the same, not all skills have the same power, not all skills need the same balance mechanics.
