I had to create a new account to play with some bronze friends, the biggest issue in Bronze and Low Silver is that players do not react to you making a play.
I play a tank, when I go in I expect a follow up, but they won't. They will only go for very obvious easy to make decisions. They also do not focus objectives. So they will get kills then just back.
At least in Gold most players react as a team. Most high silver players do as well. I actually don't think there is much of a skill gap difference between high silver (I and II) and low Gold (V and IV). High silver players I think are just a bit indecisive, and not as good playing from behind.
I was place in Bronze II or I on my main account (this one) after getting to Gold V last season. Had no issue climbing to Silver III by just playing my game. Once I hit Silver II I hit a bit of a wall and then a month or so later I was able to get back into Gold. I think the bottom lane in low Elos is just a trainwreck. One team just gets stomped early and they snowball from there.
I main top so even if I TPed bottom usually I would have to be prepared to fight a 2v1 because my teammates would not help. I may have got over the hump in silver this season by playing support more, but I honestly can't remember. I know I did find a reliable ADC to play with sometimes, so I had a Duo and that helped.
I do play against platinum players occasionally in ranked and more often in normals. When I lane against a platinum player, (if they are a top main) I notice it. They are able to capitalize on leads better and exert more map pressure, while also CSing really well.
I have noticed that most Gold III and higher players are noticeably better than lower Gold players. They simply make fewer mistakes.
