How champion capsules should work
- The capsule has a set BE budget. This preferably increases per level so the average BE/game remains constant as EXP needed to level up increases. Though there should a minimum so beginner players get a 'bonus' and gain their first 20 champions for ranked fairly quickly. The actual amount is slightly lower than old IP gains per game, due to champ shards giving discounts (but being unlikely to be the champ you're looking for so you disenchant them, so the decrease is not so dramatic. I'd assume the player always has 20 champions on their 'to-get' list)
- A random amount of champion shards is chosen, can be none or a lot, but the total BE from disenchanting all the shards is always the same or below the BE budget.
- The remaining BE is rewarded directly to the player
- Also show us the drop lists and percentages for chests and capsules on the client ya dongs
- And make mastery upgrades cost nothing >:(
When I tried to make a new account and levelled it, I got a ton of BE the first few times. I was going to make my account a one trick account anyway so I only planned to buy one champ at the moment and was playing bots, I needed 4800 and had 4200~ or something. When I finally levelled up I got one Janna shard. It was extremely disappointing compared to the 3600 BE that was straight up given to me plus a few shards earlier, but at the time I was extremely relieved as it plus the reward from a quest was enough to get me to 4880 BE.
This way, we feel rewarded if we get the shards we want, we feel fairly treated as we can't get shafted by bad luck (but at the same time we can't get super lucky, and get more BE than we deserve), and most of all we can finally get the champs we want at a predictable and reasonable pace.
