I absolutely agree that the Rune system is ridiculously expensive, and probably shouldn't share currency with champions. However, just tell your friend to pick up the discount T3 Runes and fill out with the 1 IP T2 Runes for any absolute necessities outside that. He will be fine with just the standard sets for quite a while.

No it isn't, it's literally a weeks worth of playing for the runes anyone actually uses and there are also almost as good T2 1lp runes...

A week of playing isn't a set number, and it's entirely subjective as to whether the player feels X number is a lot or a little in a week. The difference between a T2 and T3 Rune is objective; how that difference is perceived is not.

Pedantic. I don't care if there are some oddballs who play 1 game a week, if that's the case it's not as important to them on the grounds that they barely care about League anyway.

Hes bought 4-5 champs that hes wanted. I'm helping him move out of one lane and he cant do that.

You're exaggerating so much here lol.

By level 20 (a few days at most) you can buy at least 2 6300 champs and still have enough for a relatively expensive runepage.

And all the basic ad / armor / ap greater runes cost like 100 each, which is fuck all, that's like 1 game per rune. And that's not even counting win of the day.

Even playing a few games a day you can quite easily fill both the standard ap and ad rune pages in a week or so.

So if he's been playing for 6 months he lose every game and play like 1 game a week. Even that would have got him like 4000lp

takes like 3 days to fill the entire ad / ap rune page so what on earth are you talking about? Utter bollocks. I have over 70k IP spare and I bought my runes when they cost way more than now.

"???????????????" to you too, you can get 1 greater rune or so per game, you need like 10 games a day over 3 days plus the win of the day to fill a basic page (considering the armor runes and mr glyphs cross over to both the ap and ad pages as well)

Each game is roughly 100 ip

10 games is 1000 ip

3 days is 3000 ip

You going to play 30 games in 3 days?

You're blasting it way out of proportion. He would most definitely be able to buy any champions he wants if he's been playing for 6 months, and a decent runepage. Also, why would you tell him to buy runes over champions when just starting the game? You don't need perfect runes for an under level 30 normal game. In addition, why not just tell him to buy tier 2 runes for 1 ip? They aren't even that bad compared to tier 3's.

Start with the tier 2 runes. Their only 1 ip each. Then get a core champion pool and go from there. Encourage trying to play a bot game every day for the free first win of the day bonus.
