I still don't see any damage nerfs

OR any more base stat defense buffs.. What gives? Do we really want games to be so high damage level 1-6. I thought the reason of changing base stats around to give less impact of hitting level 2 (this was a few seasons ago) was to make the game less lopsided. Now it feels like everyone has too much available damage level 1-6.

Rammus lost armor, Gragas got AS, Shyv lost AD, and Taliyah got armor and health.

There are a lot more champions than 4 in this game...

There are 5 champions at 55% winrate, and only 1/5 gets nerfed (rammus) 12 champs at 54% winrate and 1/12th gets nerfed (shyvanna) Multiple champs below 50% winrate and only two get buffed?

Yea sure "balance at work"

And aery is losing a chunk of damage.

Because the top two sona + ez aren't using klepto?

No. It's losing damage because it's horrendously broken, and is highly abusable by multiple champions. It's significantly more reliable than Comet as well.

They want the game to be hots. Speaking of hots, blizzard is changing the game around to give hots an actual laning phase and better camera visibility. It actually feels like a moba now instead of a 5 man brawl death ball slug fest. If Riot doesn't fix their shit, then I'll probably be investing my time into hots, it has better heroes anyway

GigglesO3 votes

The irony of all of these changes is that league keeps trying to get faster and more exciting... meanwhile the other mobas seem to be working their way to slower. Its like players like to do more than just button mash.

honestly if I wanted to button mas I would go play super smash bros.

Can you go more into details about hots laning change? or give me a link to the change? For a whole patch of league i've been playing almost nothing but ARAM and Ascension, and in those small number of normal games i felt like shit. So, i think about moving on to HOTS, Overwatch or Battlerite.

They made it so the turrets can no longer run out of ammo which should make the laning phase a bit more involved. They also changed the way the health globes which drop from the spellcaster minion works. So before the globes were always tied to one team who could get it. Now its tied to the same team as before for the first 3 seconds but then becomes neutral and able to be collected by either side. This should make winning a lane more useful as you can deny them their globes AND take the globe for yourself.

On a side note, I find the most interesting change with HotS is they are introducing performance based ranking where while its still mostly win/lose for gaining/losing MMR, now it actually takes into account how you performed personally for how much you might gain or lose. Assuming it works pretty well it could be a huge step in the right direction for how it feels to play super well in a loss and in general could help solid players climb a little faster by mitigating their losses a bit from their own good play.

The performace based ranking would be the best system but it will never work. There is a differnce between having good stats and everything and being helpful for the team.

These changes surely sound cool! Thanks for sharing, definitely gonna try HOTS again.

HoTS also has some interesting champs that riot wouldn't dare make. Like Vikings which is a 3 unit hero that you can split up and send to multiple lanes

Lethality MF is literally oneshotting with her Q at level 4 with only dirk. No nerfs tho.

Aery just got reduction in damage so.....???

tanks need help, keystones suck, flat health doesn't make anything tanky.

Tanks don't need help though...

Damage creep is just ruining fun unless you play assassin or some kind of bursty champ. New runes gave more burst damage making it even worse. Non-bursty champs can still buy into new runes and buy damage, but what is the point if you are melee and everyone is picking bursty guys that got mobility creep along with their damage creep? There is a serious lack of champs that can do well buying damage early to keep up, the range to use it, and the ability to turn that into defensive power later on. So it isn't just that there is more higher damage stuff, but that it encourages there to be more higher damage champs.

AirKingNeo1 votes

What kind of damage nerfs we want exactly? What kind of defensive buffs?

Be specific.

GigglesO1 votes

Selection on secondary rune set damage nerf, early damage is too high which leads to the snowballing.

I think the 18% AS is fine, but I think you shouldn't get additional bonuses for going Inspiration primary.

It's upsetting that they didn't hit lethality/duskblade at all as lethality users are pushing down the winrates of non lethality users, seriously this patch looks like a worlds patch yet its pre season wtf.

They need to disable ezreal for ranked if they aren't going to nerf him.

GigglesO2 votes

That is because Riot refuses to let tanks exist early game, and late game. There is this fine little area in midgame where if the enemy adc/assassin didn't get fed you are allowed to exist.

Which explains Riots "noone is playing front-liners". Well no duh, they feel like trash to play.

Noblewind1 votes

I agree, however I also feel like it's true that everyone is just taking more damage because it's preseason. A lot of the non damage runes honestly look sleeper OP, and I bet the pros will start showing that as the season starts

GigglesO1 votes

I'm not really sure late game damage is an issue. I feel fairly tanky late game. I think the big issue is early game snowballing. In the previous season if you wanted to have some tank stats you started with 10-20 ap, and 9 or so damage. Well, now you get more than that just for selecting your secondary path, and 130 health isn't the same as having 16 armor or 16 MR if you stacked it against the enemy that you were in lane against. Sure you could start cloth armor, but then whats the point of having starting items like relic shield?

Noblewind2 votes

Agreed yeah. I was honestly surprised at first when I saw the passive stats you get from your primary tree. I feel those could have just been left out. It's just too easy to start scaling after a play or two
