Can we not just randomly buff champions for no other reason than to push them into pro play please?
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks.
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks.
"riot wants to buff akali for her underwhelming play rate in the LCS"
How abut you update her kit to not be so toxic and abnoxious once shes ahead. Why don't you update it so she provides her team with actual usefulness when she is behind : ^ )
Pro players want champions who can provide TEAMWORK! look at envy vs cloud nine yesterday. Seraph got destroyed in lane as jarvan, but since jarvan has many tools for team fighting, he was able to calm down, to stop feeding, and look for ways to help HIS TEAM through good ultimates and cordination.
Akali isn't a champion who can do that, and even if you buff her, you fixed none of the problems. If seraph was that behind on let's say akali yesterday, than envy would of lost, for Seraph is on a champion who is purely and one hundred percent reliant on the strategy of snow balling.
Strats like that worked back in the day when CC wasn't so much a big deal. But now in a meta where every new champion Kayn included, has some form of cc, a champion with quite literally zero cc, is written off as border line useless in pro play.
What makes champions like zed and talon different? What makes them still occasionally picked by pro players. They are champions who can look to roam bot lane once they lose lane phase, they are champions with reliable mobility and damage to get ontop of enemy carries.
Akali is that hot girl who promises to take you out on a date but then never shows up.
And when the "holy" tournaments are over, said champions will get dumpstered, because they will be deemed as "too toxic".
Riot should NEVER balance around LC$. The pros are a minority comparted to the casual players.
Almighty.
The game is balanced around Casual play for 10 months out of 12. People may get nerfed due to proplay (Hello Shen), but otherwise the main attention is on Casual play. You can deal with the 2 months they decide to put a little love into E-sports.
It is well known that riot's priority to buffs and nerfs is not really based just on if they think a champ is too weak or too strong but rather, how popular or unpopular a champion is in casual and competitive play. When Zilean wasn't played a lot, they buffed him when he was already good and had an aoe global passive, and a point and q. They nerfed it and reworked his passive many times till it is today because he started becoming more popular. And that is only one example. Sometimes when a champion is already quite strong or a very competent champ in the game, if they aren't really played a lot then riot will buff them and not because they need buffs for balance purposes, but to make people want to play that champ more. But what the hell is the point of doing that when once that champ gets popular, they nerf that champ....Make up your mind. I can at least say that I want balancing to be based on what they really think is balanced or not and not what is popular or not. Please take a freaking look at warwick. Maybe I'm just a noob but warwick is ridiculous and has been eversince the rework more or less, and riot chooses to not really do anything about it. I don't really see a lot of warwicks all the time either so yes maybe he isn't played for a reason who knows? But he could also not be played a lot too because maybe people got bored of playing him since he wasn't the flavor of the month? I think kayn is kind of ridiculous and usually all champions upon release. It gets annoying how if Kayn comes at you and you are a ranged champ, he dashes in, does the aoe spell that hits in a fat line in front of him, then ults you and you gotta sit there waiting thinking when the hell is he gonna come out because it's such a waste of my time waiting, then he comes out does a lot of damage from his ult that you can't really do anything about unless you buy hourglass no matter what role you are playing to counter it, then after that he has his dash and maybe even his long ranged fat aoe spell again and kills you. The great thing is I would gladly rush hourglass on an adc if I were playing one even if it makes me go behind on damage if that's what it takes for riot to realize that if you want to reduce qss from counterplaying other things, then i can still buy hourglass. Sounds troll but it can help in very tight situations and is better you have less damage than being dead and not able to dish any damage. But I guess for now, I will just be playing trynd, zed, and basically not adcs or ranged champs until kayn gets nerfed some or stops being flavor of the month as he is newly released.
Pro players are the 1% of the 1% of the players in the game. You start at the bottom. When close to 70% of the player base is in bronze and silver, you need to adjust accordingly. You cannot have a trickle down effect. it does not work. You start at the bottom and build up. This isn't like the NFL where rules at the top don't affect youth players. That is the problem when everyone plays the same game. Pro players get extra catering while everyone else under diamond 4 gets screwed.
Why?
Why would riot care what champs go into pro play. That makes no sense. Do they get something is X champion is played in pro play? I dont see how or Why.
Is it wrong that upon seeing this post I thought "Oh, corki got buffed?"
I rather them buff champs to get them into the mix instead of seeing the same champs constantly
Randomly...? A lot of these buffs were for champions that hadn't received a lot of help and been weak for a while now.
Pro play is all that matters now. Riot makes 99.99999% of their decisions based on pro play.
If you check the viewers of each year at LCS Worlds, the higher the viewers got, the shittier the game became.
how about you do it to aatrox eh? akali is already strong aatrox is nerfed to the ground
