Do I really have to play this game? Can these trolls just hold me hostage for 20-30 minute sif I dont want to lose my account?

Knowing RIOT I fear the answer is yes...

Suprise suprise, after they hold me hostage for 40 minutes we lost, and i couldnt do anything because if i actually left, I would be the one punished...

that's a risk to playing a multiplayer game. That same risk applies to a teammate of yours who is trying to win with a solid pick and still losing

I wouldn't even try to play this game. No, actually play, but make sure you don't win this game. If you win you are going to tell trolls that it is ok to troll, because it gets a win.

While your frustration is understandable, you do see the team ahead of time, and you always have the option to dodge the queue. Dodging generally penalizes you less than staying in the game and losing.

Dodging in norms pretty much always costs you less time than playing the game (since real troll pairs won't surrender). The first dodge in ranked is only -3 LP. The -10 LP for subsequent dodges is bad, but if it's a truly atrocious and unwinnable comp, the maintenance of your sanity may be worth whatever extra LP you lose versus playing it out.

If it's a promotional series... yeah, that sucks. :\
