Just saying the passive granting 100 extra damage of burst plus 15% of your ap looks worse than dfg. Sure your whole combo wont proc the shiv effect but if you are a poke mage or even an assassin that extra burst could make you win trades and 100 to 0 if you otherwise couldnt. I can already see it being core on 
Basically any ap character would love everything this has to offer
DrCyanide2 votesHard to say. Getting Deathcap, Hourglass, Void Staff, and this item gets you up to 572 AP, so the bonus damage is only 85. It could tip the scales in some situations, but it's probably not worth freaking out about.

Skia Asteri1 votesThe damage amp for DFG would give you the same damage increase as long as you do 500 + 75% AP magic damage (20% of that is 100 + 15% AP) while it is in effect. Never mind the 15% max HP magic damage nuke. Presuming you do not proc this bonus damage multiple times during your all in, DFG was probably better for most mages for 100-0'ing enemies.
