Kids building bork because "omg pros did it"

Stop.

Every stupid kid (usually some meta sheep Lucians) building this shit item. Every single one of them fed in past 20 games except for one Lucian who was 12-1. He was vs'ing a kid building bork on Caitlyn. Again, trash bork item.

Explain to me why you'd build this shit item instead of item 3033 item 3812 item 3071 item 3142item 3026 item 3006 with Thunderlords and Lethality runes

  1. Anti-Burst
  2. Anti-Tank
  3. Sustain
  4. True damage to squishies
  5. Mobility
  6. Abilities ACTUALLY do damage
  7. Insane burst in from start to finish of game
  8. 40% CDR http://i.imgur.com/v2L2kgT.gifv 5k true damage from a Late-game Lucian ult using this build

unless you're vs'ing a 10k hp Sion/Naut there's 0 reason to build it. Stop building it. It's shit. You kids feed every time you build it. I can only partly blame the item because only a downy would buy the item in the first place; making it 2x the stupidity.

#Oh yeah and shout out to the Lucian I just got that knew how to build properly, first Lucian that didn't feed tonight

Well, gonna just ignore the incredible condescension in your tone, and explain.

BORK is an incredibly efficient first item buy, since the only stat it lacks that an ADC wants is crit/cdr. The on-hit passive scales with game time, and it's still strong as a first buy between levels six through nine. It makes your auto attacks incredibly beefy whilst also giving you plenty of survivability and general DPS.

Now, why does Lucian build it? It's to abuse his passive, which applies on-hit effects. To begin with, Lucian does benefit a lot from caster stats (AD, lethality, cdr), but his ratios are actually kind of shit. In a setting where you can consistently kite and weave in spells, your autos will deal more damage than abilities. That build you're quoting won't deal true damage to squishies, much less tank (30% armor reduction, 45% bonus armor penetration, 15 lethality from GB, 14 lethality from runes still leaves a squishy with like 40 armor at lv 18). It'll deal a lot more damage to tanks, but never true damage. I'll do the math if you want, but gd that's tedious. Hopefully, the statistics from op.gg (>48% winrate when ghostblade is built vs. 55%+ from BORK builds) will dissuade that.

These reasons are why you see builds more like this, since it gives him the best of both worlds.

Never got why people build Firecannon on Luci, if it's for burst Stattick is better (but less reliable), and if it's just for Crit PD would be perfect for a duelist like Lucian.

They buy bork because it's like the only item with AD and attack speed. Plus, it has lifesteal. They don't buy it for the on-hit, that's just an added bonus.

I mean, if you bother to ban Cait when you have a Lucian, Ruined King is perfectly fine imo. Makes his early laning comparably good to Ghostblade while allowing his late game to not be complete shit.
