Pick Soraka. Poke him down, outsustain him, drop the silence on him when he hooks so that he can't finish his combo. I play it a lot and there's realistically no way for a Naut to beat a good Soraka.

Pick Blitz for the same reason. Why are you even doing this? I just want to win one game tonight..." Okay, sure. The 3/2/29 Nautilus is what made that game hard, not the 2/12/4 Fizz.
The day Nautilus support got played in the LCS, I logged in to see my Facebook full of "I'M SORRY!!! I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS VIABLE!! I THOUGHT YOU WERE JUST GETTING LUCKY WHEN YOU DID IT!" messages. Meta sheep... Yeah. I got "lucky" when I won about 80% of my games as Naut support. "Luck" was the only thing involved there. -___-

I've had Naut supports before LCS. I like him as support since the person playing him usually knew what he was dong. I'm afraid that will change with LCS picking him :(. Now a bunch of randoms, with no clue how to play him, will pick him and make me hate him.

This was before cinderhulk so tank junglers were still useless, his kit can actually make him a viable support. He may not be able to directly buff/heal his ally like meta supports, but he has enough CC to turn around dive attempts in an instant.

Guess a good Nautilus can just bait the silence out, not that hard. Also I think if he hooks someone and gets rooter, his passive still triggers so silencing him doesn't really stop him.

or he could just ya know, walk off the silence esp since his root is passive.

I'd gladly fight a . She has absolutely no peel, her damage is almost non-existent, if you hook either her or the ADC, you've got a fight you can win with all the extra damage and lock down Naut brings.

Anyway, the thing with the soraka matchup is that while on paper you have the tools to win, you dont have enough of any particular one of them. During laning phase you don't have the damage to actually kill her in one trade, and the longer a trade goes the worse it gets for naut because his W and Q are on such a high cd. So you trade with a soraka, and she just walks away and heals up, so that a minute later enemy botlane is full hp and yours isn't because you were trading. To get through that, you basically need to get a good trade off, wait for cooldowns without raka landing a Q, and then get another nice engage and finish a kill. Otherwise you just slowly lose.
Also, her E can deny your trading if used correctly (rare that I see this done but still). And in some matchups she can just sit back and spam heals as her adc kills yours, since if it's something like Ezreal, Naut doesn't actually have much of a deterrent to him just blinking in and 1v2ing (slows do nothing if he's already in range, all you have is Q and Exhaust for cc).
Ignite is a thing, but it's not a sure victory and giving up exhaust hurts.
All that said, this matchup also depends on the patch. The OP was back when her Q and W heals were instant. If Raka is weak numerically, you can faceroll her.

I dunno, just from experience I feel that once you land a hook you can brute force this match up if your focus is right. Naut's autos really hurt.
