What if Death Recap could recommend items?
Different defense items apply to different niches. Especially the more reactive niches, I'm sure the information exists that a well designed Death Recap system could make good suggestions. For example:

Got killed primarily by an Auto Attacker? Randuin's, Frozen Heart, and Thornmail could all get suggested

Make Recommended Items adapted to your role or champion, for example not mentioning Frozen Heart for Zac or highlighting Redemption as an option for Supports

Your death started with a gigantic risk ability like a Thresh Hook or Morgana Snare or Blitz Hook? Hey maybe you can pause building full Damage for a Banshee's Veil

Somewhat more complex, maybe items can be recommended that counter the champions as a whole, not just what killed you. For example, immobile champions killing you could prompt the Death Recap suggestion to suggest Rylai's, long CC champs prompting Mercurial Scimitar, or bad siegers Zz'Rot Portal.
