New ADC Update Took Out Class Weaknesses.

I feel like the primary reason we are seeing so many ADCs in EVERY LANE (GODAMMITWHY) is because with the new marksman update that heralded the new season, many of the weaknesses that defined marksman as a class have gone down to almost a non issue. Allow me to explain.

  1. Are marksman supposed to be squishy and easy to kill? Tell that to graves and every ADC that abuses steraks because auto attacks don't give a damn about base or bonus AD.

  2. Easy to be locked down and blown up perhaps? Well Maw is stronger than ever with a huge ass shield, a good chunk of MR, and an incredible passive. Mercurial Scitmar now gives better AD, Lifesteal, and the active is always there if you find a tank breathing heavily on you. Furthermore, the new zeal items, rapid fire cannon and Phantom dancer can grant you extended range on your next auto attack and percent damage reduction. And I fear the day when adcs start making Deaths Dance work.

  3. Perhaps they dont have the same quality of spells as mages, with poorer access to them or perhaps the adcs that do use spells still fall off like they used to. Not anymore. Now ADCs have the best CDR item in the entire game, which can grant up to 30% CDR just for building crit. On an ADC. On top of this their critted auto attacks now give them back mana to make sure any troubles they have with that pesky blue bar are sure to never come up again. Furthermore their spells are still pretty damn great! I dont think anyone would argure against the power of corki or lucian or jhinn and just how strong their spells can be, especially with the aforementioned CDR.

  4. Well what about a weak early game then? Surely with all these shiny new items that are ripe for the taking they at least need to get the gold required to buy them before they can start doing well. And as any top laner that has had to deal with Quinn and Graves can tell you, this is also a falsehood. Or a jungler that has to deal with kindred. Or a Mid laner with corki. With the whole roster getting a unilateral raise in their base AD across the board, with a minimal decrease in total AD by level 18, at which point items make the shortcomings a nonfactor, ADCs hit harder early game than they did before.

  5. Well at least they all do physical damage, so at least you can just stack armor and ignore whatever damage they put out, right? Corki and Kogmaw currently do ridiculous amounts of magic damage, as burst and dps respectively. Additionally ADCs can build their new last whisper items, of which Mortal Reminder makes any champion reliant on self heals worthless and Lord Dominik's regard, which in addition to having one of the coolest names for an item, also gives them up to 50% additional damage from both spells and auto attacks so that if you even look at an item that gives HP, you will meet the requirement off of that and base stats alone. Also, obligatory insert Vayne %Max Hp true damage complain here. Thank god nobody plays her at the moment.

It feels like in total, ADCs give up nothing for what they gain in total. Assasins as a class are not great teamfighters, relying on demolishing one squishy target then escaping before they are killed. Tanks as a class should not do massive damage. Juggernaughts have shit mobility, Mages are worthless while their spells are on CD, you get the idea. But with these new updates, I must ask what Marksmen give up as a class? They sure don't lack in burst or dps. People constantly find ways to circumvent their supposed squishiness. Their strong autos and EC make them strong without spells and keep the CDs to the bare minimum. And more often than not they can easily bully their melee counterparts out of lane without a second thought.

TL;DR: With the latest marksman updates, they currently do not have a weakness as a class, and oftentimes by themselves.
