Seriously, he no longer looks like an intimidating figure who rules through strength, fear, and cunning. He looks like a regular thug. A miscreant that fails entirely to capture any sort of captain persona if it were not for the hat he is wearing. He looks like a brute. Not the orange eating captain we all love.

He lost his crew He lost his arm He lost his respect He lost his crown He nearly lost his life.
New GP is a scummy and downtrodden shell BECAUSE he has lost everything and has to claw his way back up the chain. Essentially, all he has left is his grit and his vengeance.
The new base skin on the PBS looks absolutely nothing like Gangplank at all.

I'm personally a fan of the way that he looks now. Regardless, everyone is getting captain skin for free. If you like captain, use that regularly and imagine this new gp is the free skin. Like it or not, you're receiving a skin free of charge; how can that upset anyone?

It does look like ass. The fact that the Captain skin is infinitely better kind of feels weird.
Personally, I think the new GP look is a large improvement. maybe the clothes could be a bit better honestly. But think about it, the old GP was, Clean, as you could put it, a ferocious pirate probably does not have a brightly red colored coat with a jolly attitude, but a ragged and torn one spattered with his opponents blood with an aggressive attitude, but that is just my own opinion.
I can never tell if all these GP threads are talking about his classic skin or his Captain skin.

yup....idk i just don't like this new direction for lore, i wish they could have gone into this much depth when it was still the way it originally was...
of course it looks worse, it escaped of a ship exploding and lost his arm, what did you expect?
He;s supposed to be. Captain Gangplank is the captain persona you are looking for. The new base is the fallen pirate, who fell from the top to the bottom of society and has to climb his way up.
I will say he has probably the single most hilarious taunt of all time in his new VO (which is is like half new, half old).
He looks worse but there is a lore reason behind it that I can dig, others should also dig this since it shows us that Champions can change over time and not stay the same old same old even after they were almost blown up by an explosion and lost one of their limbs.
