Do I just play Irelia safer and tankier than most? It is just my ELO?

I play a LOT of Irelia in the recent weeks, and all of the guides I see about Irelia tell me that Fiora Renekton Pantheon ruin my life, but I never see that.... For Renekton, I never let trades last long enough for his bar to go up.... For Pantheon, I take the poke and heal up afterwards (he can never just 100-0 me in lane) and for Fiora, if I'm careful with my stun, I'm fine. In fact, one of my biggest troubles is Nasus, who is said to be an easier matchup.... I cant just walk away from him ever....

I say this without intending any offense, but you are in Bronze 5.

While counter match-ups exist and can make whoever is on the receiving end miserable, they generally rely on the player knowing how to use their advantages.

If the "counter" isn't playing the match-up properly, then they don't actually counter you.

I would (and have) happily first-picked Nasus into counter matchups (i.e. Darius, Renekton) throughout Silver and Gold (in S5 and S6) without any issues. I knew my champion and the match-up better than many of my opponents and climbed due to it.

However, I wouldn't dare do the same thing against Diamond players since they actually know how to take advantage of my weaknesses and crush me.

I'm fine. In fact, one of my biggest troubles is Nasus, who is said to be an easier matchup.... I cant just walk away from him ever....

This match-up relies on management of the minion wave. Shove it into his tower early (for a level advantage) and bounce the minion wave. If you did it correctly, the wave will shove towards you and you can freeze it outside of your tower.

At this point, Nasus has to overextend if he wishes to farm (leaving him vulnerable to ganks). You can deny him gold and experience (or force him to farm with E) until the freeze breaks.

could be harsh to say it, but yea it is. Lanebullies really become dominant when people know how to abuse their laning power, around plat+ And Nasus vs Irelia is a weird matchup. Nasus kit counters Irelia and outscales it, BUT Nasus is a bad counterpick to Irelia in high elo. Because he can be denied earlygame if you play aggro and have very good understanding of minion wave management. Also, a good jungler can coordinate a nice dive that sets Nasus really far behind. In low elo typically, the champion that outscales the other wins, because games are so goddamn long. So Irelia would beat Panth and Renek. As for Fiora, she requires a bit of skill but should outscale Irelia. However, if she takes a fight wrong, she just dies.

If you are playing Irelia and have no problems vs Renekton then it's your elo. Not saying you cant beat him, he just dominates the early game and theres nothing you can do about it except survive and outscale.
