What if Riot Extended the Duration for CC
The times are so low for there to be any uniqueness among everyone, and thus, some champions will always be in the gutter for this reason. What I mean by this is, champions that are similar should have certain niches over each other. Like Mundo and Zac. Both are sticky, bulky, and annoying to get away from. Mundo's niche is that he is definitely harder to kill because of his regen. Zac's niche is his longer ranged engage, and overall more CC. And while Zac is currently more popular than Mundo, it's hard to doubt that Mundo isn't even all that bad.
But anyway, what I'm getting at is that if you opened up the length of CC you could give champions reasons to be picked. Let's look at
. Warwick actually has a good kit. You've got a Jungler with good healthy sustain and no problems clearing. That's good. His problem is that his ultimate is his only tool to gank with. If you increase his ulti duration from 1.8 to 3 seconds, you promote reason to play him because he has a 3 second suppression.
Now using the Zac/Mundo comparison with Warwick, we can compare him to someone like Vi.
Warwick has slow but healthy clears, weak pre 6 ganks, and great post 6 ganks (with this change). His ulti removes someone from the fight for 3 full seconds, and allows for picks on a target.
Vi has decent clear speed but loses health. Good pre 6 ganks, and great post 6 ganks. Her ulti cannot be QSS'd but lasts less time.
Basically what the change did was it gave Warwick more value to the team, and therefore a reason to be picked. Since the game's picks should be based on "Who does what well" and not "Who does what the best"
If you did this to a lot of people it could open up more possibilities, and make champions more viable and not just meta reliant.
