I'll admit, Morde's kit is a terrible ball of stats, but at least hes slow and has little kill potential due to having no mobility or CC... Singed on the other hand is absolutely oppressive to play against as a melee champion and has a kit with zero counterplay. So why is there a double standard here? Can Morde not get some minor work until his VGU?

Because both of their kits are terrible designs, but Riot won't even allow Mordekaiser to be decent. Singed is also a poorly designed champ, but was given buffs so he could be playable until he gets a large scale rework. Morde won't be getting his rework this year since we know which champs will, but he's just left to rot for an undetermined amount of time.

I don't even think Singed is poorly designed, my only problem with him in fact is that he can proxy, everything else about him is fine.
