+1 for Riot bringing out another AP champ buttttttt -1 for making them weak against assassins. In an assassin driven league, not really liking where your mind is at Rito

All the more reason to play him, put those assassins in their place.

when i saw the teaser i thought hed look like an actual dragon. wings and all. that would have been badass, especially with his flying mechanic on his e.

i also didnt expect him to be a mage, but a giantass tank. so thats a shame and imo simply not the right theme for a dragon champ.

honestly, his model looks shit. he has a large sized head and forearms, but the lower half of his body is almost completely missing, which makes him look absolutely weird. almost like a parody.

and his q is basically anivias q.

animations 10/10, but except for his head, his model is ugly as hell, and except for his e his kit is boring and unimaginative. his passive alone is awkward as hell and will hold him back from being really viable imo.

if hes any strong, hes just going to be a pest for low mobility melees, constantly zoning them with his passive. and free food for assassins who are too mobile too care, and mages who can just stay outside his passive range without issue.

So because his Q is an AoE slow moving stun it's basically a copy? Do you know you can travel with it and make it massive and do more damage? Variation.

its a copy because its mechanically almost the same ability.

its a slow moving aoe stun/damage that can be double tapped to be exploded early. and yea, you can travel with it, but whats the point really? do you want to get into melee as a mage?

im watching the champion on the PBE and he seems to suffer from an identity crisis. he has 2 engage abilities in his kit, but nothing to back it up once hes there.

hes incredibly awkward with his play around the floating spheres. its like he cant decide if hes trying to be a mage or an ap bruiser. his damage is too unreliable as a mage, and he isnt beefy enough to get into a brawl at close distance.

i watched him play multiple times and he never went positive. even when his own team was 20 kills ahead, he always got wrecked. i think when hes released he might have one of the lowest winrates this game has ever seen.

He is meant to be an AP Bruiser Mage that works with his team. Also, so because his Q and Anivia's Q are similar in style, does that mean Ahri Q and Sivir Q are the same? Does that make TF Stun and Taric Stun the same? Does that make Nunu E and Anivia E the same? Does that make Cait and Jhin ripoffs of eachother?

all of these abilities vary a lot more from each other than anivias q and aurelions q, even when they have similar effects. theyre basically the same ability with different animations.

. . . Aurelion's Sol's Q increases in Size and Damage if you move along with it... Anivia's Q just does nothing but move forward... Aurelion's Q is shorter ranged based on your star size... Anivia's Q is flat distance... They are not the same ability...

Also, before I forget, his passive is essentially the same as a rotating bulldozer. It's going to actually make him viable more as you don't have to focus on it.

a ton of his damage potential is in his passive. most of his kit is actually focused around it. thats what makes his kit so awkward. against melee engages it will be irrelevant, as a melee you will be too close for it to hit you. what is he gonna do? expand it?

against ranged champs it doesnt have enough range to be an actual threat. play someone like ziggs, lux, orianna, morgana... actually basically any mage and you can poke him down without ever getting into range of the thing. he cant sustain keeping the stars at long range. and in doing so, you increase the distance between the stars and make it easier for your opponent to dodge them by walking between the gap.

You act like you can consistently fight him without getting hit by those stars. His chasing game is pretty strong with Rylai's. Also, he is meant to be a bruiser mage. There for his great utility and somewhat burst. Not 100% Nuke from range. And in terms of mages, he is medium ranged. Of course he's gonna have positioning difficulties. You also doubt his range. Trust me, this champ will be strong when he comes out, and he will do a lot.

well. im seeing him constantly getting shit on. even with those items, but ok.

A new champion performing terribly in inexperienced players? Who would have thought.

??? He does look like an actual dragon. He's modeled after Asian dragons who don't usually have wings and have large heads+serpentine bodies.

hes still too small for that. his body should be longer and larger. of course that makes his model rather large. but thats why i expected him to be a tank, who would maybe even work off blocking enemies and abilities with his own body.

his animations look amazing, but his kit itself is meh, and his champion model looks kinda shitty.

I'm looking forward to building him like naut with a rot

i think if they wanted to make him a mage, it would have made more sense to make him work on an ammo system. and either his q or his w consume his stars to to shoot them on his auto attacks for extra damage, or as a straight line skillshot.

yes, this would be even more generic, but that would at least work.

MasterSomething1 votes

You realize the galaxy is near infinite, correct? He would never run out of stars. His kit stands out as a bruiser mage, with much interaction that requires skill to use.

Valderis Vandala2 votes

Galaxy's are not near infinite, they are but tiny specs of greater celestial structures that make up our universe, it is our universe who's ends we cannot see.

Anyway, thats our universe, which says nothing of this fantasy universe, it could be as tiny as a toy snow shaker for all we know.

(but yeah I get what you're saying)
