Serious Gameplay Question for Riot ( Bug maybe?)

Hi today I was playing Maoki and soloing dragon while my team was resetting the waves and I noticed that the dragon did not proc Maoki's passive ( the one where after 5 spells cast he heals on next attack, but dragon wasn't giving me stacks on his attacks) I thought dragon's attacks were coded as spells so Pantheon couldn't solo it at level 3 or something long time ago, so anyway is this working as intended or just bug?

TL;DR The dragon's attacks aren't counting as spells toward's Maoki's passive ( And no the spells aren't champion only, the passive clearly states " every time a spell is cast near Maoki he draws energy from it, gaining a stack of magical sap")

Umm idk. Can't say but I doub't that his basic attacks are spells as Moaki could get drag at a low level than 2. Good post tho

Lol no he can't, the heal scales on % of max hp, it's only like 40 at level 2 or so, and takes 5 spells nearby to be cast for the passive to activate. The problem here isn't whether Maoki can solo dragon or not at early levels, because he can't, the question is here WHY doesn't dragon's attacks count as spells towards Maoki's passive when it's coded so

I didn't say at lv 2, maybe 3 or 4 or even 5. If dragon counted as spells he'd be healing alot. I was trying to explain as you said: "the question is here WHY doesn't dragon's attacks count as spells towards Maoki's passive when it's coded so". You just pushed it away. I was saying exactly what you wanted.

Why so many downvote? Just wondering why the dragon did not give me stacks of my passive when it's coded as a spell and literally says so in the wiki http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon " Dragon's basic attacks are treated as spells and deal 100% splash damage to enemies in an off-centered circle."

Maokai's passive is activated on champion spell casts, look at the wiki a little closer next time. It's also why Kassadin doesn't get charges of his E when fighting dragon.

hmm probably a bug, you're right, in the wiki it does say that dragon's attacks count as spells, so Pantheon couldn't solo it from his passive + W at lvl 3

Can we get a Rioter here? im confused as well, similar to that Anivia issue where her E couldn't " crit" on Dragon because it's immune to debuffs but Ashe had no problem critting on it from her passive

It does state that it only applies to nearby champions.

Idk, cause when you log in league client and look at Maoki's champion profile, in the ability section for his passive it says: " Each time a spell is cast near Maoki he draws energy from it, gaining a stack of Magical Sap. When Maoki has 5 charges his next basic attack heals him for a percentage of his maximum Health."

thats why im confused

It must be an error in the client then. Maokai's wiki page has the correct description for his passive.

I'm not sure if the dragons auto's count as spell casts, it's likely they are coded as spells on hit, so if a champion had this passive it would proc item 3151 but not item 3057 or item 3153
