People whinnning about Lux buffs are the same people

People whinnning about Lux buffs are the same people that whined about Draven buffs/changes saying it was going to make him disgusting OP.

Meanwhile he still is barely played in competitive and solo que.

Will she see play now in competitve? Maybe, but probably not. Lux ult before ult cooldown nerfs was being abused for just throwing out ult whenever you had to clear a wave or just for poke damage to send people back to back, etc. It didn't require her to kill anyone so you'd literally throw it out on cooldown with it's 20 second cooldown.

Nothing wrong with giving Lux some love, it's not going to break her.

Not a lux main, nor do I like playing with/against Lux because she has a boring playstyle

The thing is that this buff won't solve her problems. Right now Lux a decent kit in my opinion.

Q is a snare for 2 people if you aim well. W is a double shield for your team if used properly (but for me always is a little weak, which I can understand because it's for 5people, not just you.). E is an aoe slow that can be used for waveclear and harass, and gives vision. R has damage, ok,and can be used with e to clean an entire wave and go back to base, and if you rush some early cdr you can spam it a lot. The kit is FINE. It gives damage and utility from a glass cannon champ.

The problem is that in this meta everybody has mobility, so her high range advantage is nullified by evey assassin. First issue. Second, to use the shield she has to stop and launch it. If it worked like Syndra's Q it would help a lot because sometimes im being chased and Im being hurt by a DoT like ignite or bleeding and I have to shied to survive, but then I die because I have to stay in the place for a small time and that's exactly what the enemy needs to get to me.

Tldr: more damage won't help, if you want to buff, make possible to use the shield while moving.

The shield making you stop is indeed annoying as hell and gets you killed a lot when trying to run.

But I'd say her cooldowns on her non-ultimate abilies is also what holds her back. There are large amounts of time where Lux is just sitting there waiting for spells to come up even with CDR while most meta mages are spam happy monsters.

So apparently we are making up numbers now. It's 30% on kill. She can't use it for wave clear. She can't use it for poke damage.

The whole reason it was nerfed were these reasons, it wasn't because of the kill potential.

at least check before you post. http://www.surrenderat20.net/2017/03/321-pbe-update.html#balance ctrl+f lux

it's 30/40/50 by rank

Doesn't change the fact she won't be played in competitive

This doesn't solve her problems, she is still going to be mediocre. You overestimate this buff. In a losing game, Lux will still be a useless turd just like she is now because she doesn't have to ability to carry like other mages with constant burst damage. She relies on her 1 time combo and then she is done.

She'll be sitting in the back waiting for her non-ult spells to come up because they take a a lifetime to come back compared to other mages. If she can't 100 to 0 you, she is useless.

Again, the ult was nerfed due to it's stupid wave clear and poke damage, not because of it's killing potenital.

Lux in a losing game isn't even a problem. Her waveclear makes her one of the better midlaners to have in a losing game. Lux can instantly kill every other wave and is hard to push into even without her ult. She has one of the best tower defence games in the game.

Her problem is that she can't take over and snowball a game in the same way as a Syndra/Ori/Whatever other mid is meta. In fights she has her burst combo and not much else and she needs to be very far ahead for that combo to kill. These changes actually do help her with that, she can now ult in a fight and assuming she gets a kill with it and her team wins the fight (which if she's ahead and gets a decent combo off they should) she can use her ult to pick off a runner, potentially even 2 if she's at the 11.5 sec min CD.

So what you are saying is, she is using her ult to clear waves while not getting her cooldown reduction from killing? So like, she is the same damn champion and only gets to use this in a game where it's a stomp anyway because Lux is a garbage champion with a 1 time burst then she completely sucks dick?

She just sits around behind you as you are fighting waiting on cooldowns while you sit there raging because she is a useless piece of shit when behind.

LankPants2 votes

She doesn't need to be stomping, she just needs to be in a scenario where her team can win a fight, anywhere between slightly losing to absolutely stomping would be fine. In fact this buff is probably larger when the game's closer than when you're crushing. It's not super hard to get a Lux R kill in a close fight when you're about on even footing and there's a good chance the second ult will be useful on a low HP survivor in that case. In a fight where you're stomping you usually just wipe most or all of the enemy team anyway so at best you ult a wave down to push.

It's not like Lux is a "garbage champ" anyway, she has a fair few good things going for her. The ironic thing though is that your definition is 1 to 1 applicable to your main, far more so than Lux. All a losing Zilean can do is throw 2 clocks and res a guy who's going to die again anyway. He's the definition of a pick who's worthless when behind and yet he sees pro play, probably because coming back in a pro game is very hard so snowballing is very valuable. These Lux buffs unquestionably are huge for snowballing and she's already great at stalling games for 50/50s, I think these are the kind of buffs to catapult a champ to a competitive pick or ban.

Pretty much. Welcome to the bronze forums lmao They jump on any dumbass bandwagon that is popular.

Do you remember all the Draven threads? That shit was hilarious.

It's actually amazing how Draven got "buffed" and it was so nonexistent that I forgot about it.

MorgManBasher2 votes

Literally feels like nothing even changed, no idea how much that change even effected him tbh because he just feels the same.

I'm not a Draven player though, just going off when I see when others play him.

Actually I'm not whining about Lux buffs and I did whine about Draven buffs. And I do still think Draven deals disgusting early damage and he never truly falls off, and he pulls damage out of his ass no matter how horrible his k/d/a is. It was less "Draven is gonna b broken 1!!" and more "I hate laning against this toxic champion already so why is he getting buffs when he's fine? He doesn't need buffs."

Lux actually does need buffs imo. She does fine low elo but she's pretty bad higher up. Literally her entire kit is a skillshot. Even her freaking shield lol.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Not to mention that if you dare mention counterplay, counterpicks, counterbuilding, or general tips for laning, you get downvote bombed and called trolling or stupid.

Meep Man1 votes

No, I didn't actually because Draven's buffs weren't a big deal, they barely changed his damage numbers except when horribly far behind.

Meanwhile, this Lux buff is a LOT bigger than that and is not needed imo. I don't think her ultimate needs to be able to be used any more often because otherwise we get the old issue of "I have a high impact ultimate that I will be able to use immediately once you get into lane after dying, so I can kill you over and over again without any cool downs to worry about." At the very least, if she has to get buffed, this isn't the way to go about it.

Miror B1 votes

Yeah, no. I'm entirely against the buffs only because of how exploitable she was in the bronze/silver solo-queue. People would build her full damage AS A SUPPORT thinking they could get away with it. The buff only makes this option more likely now, and unless you see the ulti's cooldown increased as compensation means that there's no real drawback for spamming her ulti off cooldown to clear minion waves/check bushes.

Lauchmelder1 votes

You forgot that Draven needs considerably more skill than Lux to play well with.

I'm not saying that I hate the Lux buffs, but I don't think it's the right approach. The only reason for that "buff" I could think of was to move her away from being a waveclear bot using her ult to making her use her ult against champions.

junglerboy161 votes

The HUGE difference and the reason your argument doesn't hold water is that Draven is a highly skill intensive champ that is mostly team reliant in the first place, since he needs peel and lockdown to be of any use after lane phase.

Lux on the other hand can solo carry pretty easily and is already a very widely used champion that is effective across many elos, even if you're not a OTP like most Draven mains have to be.

EDIT: Point being even a minor buff like this will make her a lot more successful when she's already doing well, and will make her a lot more snowbally in general. Having final spark on about 14-15 second CD late game is stupid as hell, if only because it means she can be a lot less precise since she only needs one kill with it to reset it, instead of focusing on grouped hits for best one-hit damage.
