At all elos, getting first turret gives you a 73% chance to win the game. So from that point on, the game is almost not worth playing out. You are immediately fighting an uphill battle you can only win 27% of the time.

Its no wonder the game feels terrible to play. You lose first turret, fall behind, your chances of winning are slim to none; an entire game, 20-30 minutes, of you just losing. Frustration. Even winning feels terrible. Most games you just roll over opponents. Once one turret falls, generally botlane because its made of paper, the entire game takes a nosedive. Its rare to be in that 27%, which also makes it incredibly frustrating when you do lose, becuase its so infrequent to lose with an advantage.

And damn is that not an advantage. One turret damn near decides the entire game, and it can happen 5-10 minutes into the game. Here we complain about champs with a 54% chance to win, and the real kicker is getting ANY sort of early objective basically gives you a 70%+ chance to win. Drag? 70%.Rift? 70%. And most of these cascade off the first turret falling anyways.

Stomps one way or the other are not fun for either party involved. It also exacerbates balance issues. ADCs are the objective roles. Supports are generally playmakers. So you free up a turret/objective destroyer, and a playmaker, to run around the map doing what they do best by knocking down their paper turret first. And by nature of how the class works, the one with the gold advantage is almost always going to feel stronger than the one that doesn't. Hence, their ADC with 650-1k more gold is always going to feel more powerful than yours. Same for tanks. Their tanks are going to soak more damage, you arent. Etc.

Its just not fun knowing the game is basically over, barring miracle throws/plays, once a single turret drops on the map. Yes, you do win some of those games, but those are the 27% you actually come back in. For something that is so easy to take, so easy to knock down, its a bit rediculous it has that much affect on win-rates. All it takes to get first turret is anyone showing up. You dont even have to die down there. A top laner TPs? They probably got first turret. Jungler ganks? Probably got first turret. Mid roams at 6? First turret. A combination of either of those? 100% first turret. Its just too easy to push down, too easy to dive, and has too much impact on the overall game.

73% folks. So if you wanna win more solo Q games, play champs, or play in ways, to get first turret consistently.
