Getting real tired of the 4 man tower dives bot lane.

DestructoDave··64 votes·5,510 views

The lane is bad enough but getting pushed in and tower dove over and over is getting real old since the tower does absolutely nothing, falls down like paper, and forces you to basically just sit and wait or pray your mid/top/jg is better and is the one doing it. Thats basically how you can tell from the start which team is going to win any game. Do the jg and/or mid/top dive bot tower? They do? You more than likely win the game.

The lane is frustrating enough being glued to someone else then having to deal with getting dove and murdered all the time. You feel helpless enough for 20 minutes being a support stuck with an ADC, or an ADC who requires 30 minutes to be relevant, than to also basically be a free kill buffet for any other lanes that are snowballing. God forbid you start winning your lane; it won't matter because you just gonna get dove if the other lanes are losing. The roles feel hopeless enough for most of the game to also feel like nothing you do in lane matters because all that matters is how many people will show up to dive and you pray its your team doing it.

I mean you already see it in pro play every game, and now its starting to work its way into even low elo.

Sometimes you just have to let the tower go instead of dying and losing it anyways, i still make this mistake sometimes

It just gets old because it feels like bot lane is the place you go to get fed. Doesnt matter how that lane is going. Just roll up with an extra person or 2 and farm 2 low impact, low Xp champions for free kills and relieve any pressure they may have had on the game.

Basically a snowball buffet.

Knight Sky3 votes

Well i guess we have different experiences. Because its true that occasionally i get tower dove hard and die. But most of the time even if 3 or 4 dive the turret im able to survive and usually get a kill

rtbf7610927110 votes

Then they are diving you wrong. they fucked up, simple as that. If it was expected that the adc and support weren't going to die very often from 4 man dives, pro players wouldn't do it all day.

If they have a tank with turret aggro, some mage or support with cc, then 2 damage champions bursting you, you will die before you are about to move again after the cc

Like ali flash pulv, kennen tp's and flash ults, jhin is ulting you from the lane, ryze is in between your turrets and going to root you if you go that way. You just die. You're so dead and there is nothing you can do if they do it properly. Which is why tp advantage is ridiculously important in pro level games, since if your top laner can tp too you have a way better chance. With just the 2 of you, it takes a pretty big fuck up to even get a kill

It also sucks when Lee Sin pays a visit, is lv 6 and you are lv 4 at like 4:30. He's just come to collect his 600 gold real quick so he can finish warrior and snowball so hard.

Maybe if towers could be threatening, dives wouldn't be happening since 5 minutes into the game.

I love it when enemy 16-1Kassadin stands behind my tower, waiting for the enemy Caitlyn Alistar to push so they can kill me

Kingnewgameplus14 votes

If the enemy Kassadin has 16 kills before bot tower falls then your mid REALLY fucked up hard.

ForgiveColour2 votes

Its obviously an exaggeration and doesnt even change anything when a 0-0-0 mid laner can still do the same thing

if its starting to make its way to low elo, it means that people are learning the power that bot lane alone holds, and that's a good thing. If champions that have a weak early game aren't being punished for having a weak early game, there's something the jungler isnt doing right. Same goes with people that don't bring TP top lane, they're likely to bring more attention to their lane because having to back can cost them an insane amount of EXP/GOLD because of the walk back.

Nobody wants to reach late game, so bot lane gets camped because they are ridiculously strong the later the game goes on.

Literally has nothing to do with this magical power, and more to do with how easy the champs are to kill. They are always underleveled and generally squishy. You go there, because that immobile Jhin is easy to land a skillshot on and murder in 2 spells with your 2 level advantage. Not because you are scared hes going to turn into a super saiyan.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

Then ward to spot it when it's coming and turn it into a 4v4 botlane where you have a tower.

Hell, just having the jungler would be enough.

Alternatively have mid and jung crush top. Even if you lose dragon you might be able to grab a second tower before they can get to the second bot tower. Maybe even mid and top tier 1.

MunchCrunchLunch6 votes

people do that more in low elo. silver gold people just raid bot lane lol. especially for infernal drages oh baby . I've had some 5-10 minute teleport fights because no team wants to lose infernal.

HazyCloud76 votes

A large part of the reason its so common is that towers are practically irrelevant after people buy any health/armor. You don't need to have any semblance of coordination or skill to pull of a successful tower dive as a result.

Zen Fury4 votes

The towers! They do nothing!

I have to agree, the bot towers are very weak. There's almost no point in having them there. They're barely a speed bump.

Leetri4 votes

But the boards told me that all ADCs are super OP and have no weaknesses. Just play Caitlyn and you're completely immune to being dove or sieged, or play Vayne and you can 1v4 them easily because she's invincible.

MrNarukami1 votes

Part of the reason Caitlyn is my main.

Dengeden3 votes

Whaaaaaaaaat? Nah, that can't be the case. ADCs have no weaknesses remember? Especially ADCs like Vayne who spend a lot of time under tower.

Numb3rs3 votes

me and my brother used to main duo bot. he would support every game. i would adc every game. since pre-season and even mid season 6 i had to abandon him and start playing mid/jungle because of how cancer adc was getting

Critmaster Garen3 votes

i have no empathy.

adc wanted to be more relevant. i still hear the cries "i cant carry from bot lane anymore".

well, now bot lane is more relevant, and this is what happens. you have that juicy paper turret down there thats worth 500 gold and a drake on top of it.

Shifue Draven2 votes

I can get punishing them for having a bad early game but still the towers are not any kind of help what so ever when you get ones like jax(just an exameple) that can jump, stun and hammer you fast for a kill before the tower gets 2 shots and he walks away with hardly any damage save for what you can muster fast. Towers are a joke either buff their health or buff the damage.

Tobias Brackner3 votes

Clear the wave, there are plenty of ways to stop a wave from snowballing enough for a low-level dive to be worth it. Hell even if you take all of their summoners and you lose deaths and a tower I'd take that as a win since you guys can push hard for a fight w/ your summoners up.

Shifue Draven1 votes

This is true as well making them blow their summons is a help but in the same note that gold gain/lost for the person killed is rather bad to. If the laner is smart they will if they blow their summons after getting a kill just hang back and passively kill stuff while waiting for them to come up or punish them for the mistakes.

Hear hear!

Playing as a support feels awful. And I'm not even ashamed of saying that I suck and that I play in Bronze.

However I have kept track of number of times we have pretty much lost the game in some other lane (or won for that matter) BEFORE the bot lane have had anything so say about how the game goes.

It's equally frustrating to play a game where one of my team mates win other lane and the bot lane is pretty much "support the rest of the team now".

I want to play bot and have the same impact as other lanes but right now either we get dove or we need to dive enemy. The whole bot lane feels just like a filler/support for the rest of the team.

DunkinNoobs2 votes

Well yeah. The snowballing team is usually the one diving and the snowballing team usually wins. Could just have easily been diving top lane and gotten the same result.

ForgiveColour2 votes

Yup bot lane is the least desired role to play for many seasons now and rito still refuse to fix this problem. Rito are probably a bunch of jungle mains cant have a single season where jungle isnt the most broken role

Zelorxon2 votes

AAAAH, SO MUCH BRONZENESS AROUND ME, GO AWAY, GO AWAY!

Lafouboy2 votes

You think that's bad? Try being a toplaner and getting lvl 3 dived by the mid, the jungle, and the top laner. If you're at half health or less, for whatever reason, you're likely dead.

At least bottom you get a support to shield/heal/CC for you when the enemy team dives.

What do you want Riot to do? That's just how the game is played.

AMYS GRAVE3 votes

They could put the fortification bonus back on bot lane tower so it doesn't fall like paper. Give us the ability to meaningfully ward before the jungler hits 6. That would be a start.

Lol what towers are ridiculously op in league

If' you're comparing it to Dota, while yes league towers deal more damage, dota's work sorta different. -They attack the closest target(don't give no shits if there is creeps under tower. -They have much more Defenses -They have larger attack speed.(can clear creeps more reliably.) -They also can receive buffs.

you forgot that they have more range, A LOT MORE RANGE

dota towers are actually overpowered the weakness of dota towers is that they fall in late game, they are useless in late game because additional hit doesn't deal more damage and because they don't ignore a % of enemy armor

As much as I hate this happening and do think turrets should be buffed, I think the main issue is lack of warding and MIA pings. Sometimes it's just good organization on the enemy team's part so you can't get too mad but with good map awareness at least your jungler should be able to move in position to help.

Vekkna3 votes

I understand your point, but I'm getting a little tired of being told that warding is the answer. The entire problem is that you can see the roam or gank coming from a mile away, but it makes fuck all difference if you're level 7 and getting face-rushed by a level 9-10 Lee, Hec, Vi, Shyv, etc.

You basically have to pull off some amazing shit to survive that as most support/adc combos. And if you see them coming and recall, you're going to lose the turret or a dragon in one back. At this point, winning bot lane feels like it's determined as much or more by mid and jungle than by the actual bot lane players.

HotN1ps2 votes

Ive seen many instances where Ward placement and MIA's don't actually stop a strong tower dive with some many champions having ways to get to there intended targets faster, gap closers, Hecarim running past wards etc. Good awareness helps if you have a decent jungler who comes to counter gank, but so often it doesn't even matter.

I've had moments where me and my support are utterly dominating our lane, and all it takes a mid roam or top teleport to force us back after a strong trade or securing a kill and they take the tower anyway. Bot lane isn't won by who the better supp or adc are, it just depends on who gangbangs the lane first. Its terrible.

Zedex1 votes

Yeah its been like this for about a season and a half, get used to it. Your teammates need to follow up and counter gank if they're able. If not, well thats just unfortunate.

If I have enough stacks, I'll TP down and try for a Quadra.

A siege botlane, it is a... winning strategy. 2 free kills, a tower and dragon- and then they kill anyone who comes to help (too late)

Chances are it's because mid or top have lost their lanes and they're just taking the quickest and easiest objectives with their advantage.

A good set of wards, while it's no guarantee, can actually help. I was supporting my (godtier) friend and she double-killed botlane. I'd gone sightstone and warded the lower run of their jungle while she hit tower (expecting them to come)....so we saw the other three come in ready to assault us. They came one by one. With the wards, she and the jungler both knew where to intercept, confident they were alone. She killed the entire team and they surrendered instantly.

But that was pretty situational. The best way to counter it is for support to watch the map, and a third player to actually rotate bot when a siege is imminent- but it's quite possible they'll all be losing too hard to do this. A counter's not as good as an initiation of course.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

I mean, tanks and assassins are making a comeback into the meta, so unfortunately this isn't anything surprising. Hell, I see this shit happening much less than compared to a year or even two years ago, where if botlane isn't a kill lane, it's useless trash.

That's why other towers are just as weak so there's some kind of risk when there's too much focus on one lane.

You know what, I just want smarter and more painful turrets. The turret aggro is kind of a joke right now unless you somehow have exhaust.

StevoTheCreator1 votes

turrets need to be nerfed and if you lose the laning stage its your own damn fault along with your support.

its easily the hardest lane to win hard

The problem is the ranked season just started

So people are getting to their ranks

Then the higher ones go onto their smurfs and often time premade with another smurf (Cause y'know we can never have a true soloQ) who know their stuff

So they 4 man dive bottom

This is gonna happen till those smurfs get close to their mains or untill they get bored My advice? Don't play ranked till the summer, tends to be when the matchmaking FINALLY starts getting fair teams

sobi9991 votes

One successful gank is all that is required to take down bot tower. I have seen them fall 8 minutes into the game or so. At that time you don't even have enough money to buy a sightstone.
