Is mundo really that op?

If we compare mundo to amumu in a 1v1/team fight situation, mumu would always come out on top as his W + liandry's & rylais effectively nullifies mundo's ult while still being able to build tanky enough to full his role as a tank. I see mundo banned frequently, but mumu never, why?

Against a mundo, mumu would probably run something like with SV quints and no matter what mundo itemize, he can't outsustain mumu's damage + sustain yet mundo still has a higher ban rate than him. Do people not know how play using counters or something?

mundo is decent but not actually that strong. people crying OP are just retards so dont bother.

In a 1v1 fight yes, but late game Mundo isn't in it for a 1v1 with an Amumu. He's just slightly out of hand at the moment due to how fast he can stack HP and defenses at the same time now. And if he get's too far hard ahead it is really really hard to deal with him if he catches you with his cleavers. I don't think he's ban worthy, in my opinion, but I can understand why people just would rather not deal with him.

I've started taking Ignite in ARAM just in case they have a mundo... that's how good he is right now.

A better question is...why would you build mumu to counter mundo in 5s? By the time mumu has a build to out-dps mundo, ADCs should have ramped up and be dealing with him fine.

Mumu always countered mundo.
