Jungle EXP

From my observations it feels like the average jungler struggles EXP wise especially when the solo laners turn around 7; the jungler could possibly still be level 5. I find myself taking second blues more often this season. Now I don't jungle a lot myself but it's something that seems to be the norm in my games and even in OGN games. Solo laners have a tremendous EXP advantage in the mid game compared to the jungle and duo lanes.

Any thoughts?

As an avid jungler this is actually correct. In order to obtain the same map pressure and carry ability as before, you fall behind in exp. But it's only a temporary gap because the jungle gives more xp when you are behind.

There is two major gaps atm in my rotations. It's not that I'm rotating the jungle badly, it's that in order to gank while not being dead I have to skip a few camps or else it takes too long.

When solo lanes are 7, I'm barely 5. I catch up quickly within 1-2 mins, then around levels 11-13 I have the same issue, I'll barely be level 9-10. A big issue here is if the enemy laners are better during this time and I can't help the laners. Which is why I snowball em ahead to make the other jungler qq he can't help because he is also behind. I find myself taxing xp off of my ally laners a lot lately.

early game jungling is pretty hard Just about everyone hits lvl6 before I do and have twice my cs my jungling for like the past 20 games have been really good despite that

From a design perspective it sounds reasonable that ganking has a cost. Or... mmm... risk. Because if the gank works cleanly it more than makes up for it.

It just feels bad to me that:

• Falling behind is hugely detrimental as a jungler • Jungle EXP situation feels very... sensitive around levels 5-7. When solo laners get ults

One could look at it as just a change to the game, and not something that is bad. Maybe it just matters more when and how you gank.

I'm not sure exactly how the jungle EXP catchup mechanic works. I suspect though it is flat and therefor indirectly nerfed when the camp spawn time doubled? Even if not counterjungling is still a stronger strategy due to higher respawn times.

Some last thoughts:

Gank oriented jungle strats appears hindered EXP wise this season. As opposed powerfarming junglers getting an advantage EXP wise... Powerfarmers appear to stay even without taxing the lanes of probably dead teammates. This is probably the way it is preferred because the way it feels to most players when a jungler is able to PvE the entire game and come out ahead... Even if it is fair considering the entire team as a whole.

For exp to feel more like last season I think we should:

• Slightly buff regular jungler EXP pre 6. • Maybe buff jungle EXP catchup mechanics.
