What's with nerf threads practically being taboo here

It's like every champion main flocks to the thread to defend their champ

It's not a taboo, we still read it everyday.

People only hate bad nerf threads, which as bad as it sounds, a lot of those posts fall into that category.

You just need to follow the meta. It'll get upvoted if it's Kalista, Nidalee, Zed, or something about mobility, or skillshots, or ADCs.

It's catch 22

Go with something that'll be sure to get people's attention but likely has a pretty polarizing OP and a few short thoughts and it gets insta downvoted

Make a long, detailed post explaining your points and backing them up (wrong or not) and it won't be read. I personally don't downvote. If I have an issue with what someone says, I respond to them. If I don't or figure the thread is garbage, I just ignore it and move on.

because the QQing here is pretty out of hand

A lot of those threads usually just sound childish and the individual who wrote them just seems to be whining about the "OP" champion who stomped them hard. Usually they give no reasons for nerfing X champion outside of "their broken, need nerfs NOW" so it is why they usually get negative responses. Usually if it has some actual concerns or reasons supporting why they want X championed nerfed, it will usually receive more constructive responses.

BluePolarizer4/17/2015, 2:29:24 AM2 votes

because 90% of "nerf X" threads can be solved by "getting good" and "not sucking"

Even if I don't like a champion, I know that threads with the title "Nerf X!" aren't going anywhere.

You need to have a decent title that doesn't come off as whining, good constructive feedback for possible changes and reasons why the champion's current kit is in need of changing.

For example, when people complain about Fiora's burst, they forget: 1.) she's an assassin melee attack damage carry, so she's going to deal a shit ton of burst, and 2.) she lacks utility, escapes, and cc, making her counterplay so obvious you could paint a portrait of it. So make sure to note where there is counterplay, where there is not, and how the latter can be changed fairly.

I'm no Fiora main, but that's the most obvious example I could think of.

im usually willing to read and have a conversation about said topic, if they actually provide valid points have a fairly readable post and aren't just crying because they got countered

powerbats4/17/2015, 12:48:13 AM1 votes

Because usually it's zomg this champ is op nerf plz type threads.

It's obviously not because the following reasons since they're too logical. Any and all of these are prime examples. So without further ado here's some prime examples, feel free to add others.

}

Person doesn't know how to lane against said champ.

Person got counter picked or counter picked themselves.

Person saw it in LCS and tried to play the same way and got wrecked for reasons above.

Person just plain sucks at playing either in general or against said champ.

Person just doesn't want to learn how to play and wants it easy.
