My predictions:
Malzahar will become Jungle/Top and rarely mid unless against particular counterpicks (Zed, Fizz, what used to be his bane of existence, now cannot easily just ult Malz and get a gg due to passive). . .
All his power got sucked into Voidlings. Straight up. He had base AND AP ratios dropped off a roof. Voidlings abuse the shit out of anyone melee and quickly eat people ...

Which means against most mids (hello range) nobody is going to get close enough. Those who will are inevitably the people now banning Malz.
What this means overall is:

Jungle Malz means insanely fast clear speeds + high uptime due to Voidlings taking and dealing a shit ton of damage at rank 1 and never needing another rank in jungle.... reliable ganks with ult.

Top Malz means abusing the crap out of any melee champ. Gap closing doesn't mean jankdiddle to Malz atm because any followup CC is null for 1 second. By that time he space aids, voidling face-baby-make, refresh space aids with a silence, and if you're not dead, ult just in case.

Mid Malz is going to die out a lot once people realize "o hay i just poek him n den i can touch him in his no-no zone" and their hope for a more "traditional sustained damage mage" will evaporate into lane bully and you-must-buy-qss ganks champ.
