@Meddler, why buff Ezreal's E instead of W
Are there plans for him when the ADC items changes come about? I really rather see some buff to W instead of E

The intent with the E buff is to add some more power to Ezreal's kit in a way that encourages some risk taking to take full advantage of it (using E more offensively at times, rather than almost always sitting on it as an escape).
That does still leave AD Ezreal's W feeling pretty underwhelming, our primary focus for 5.18 though is balance (Worlds patch), rather than addressing other issues like satisfaction.
Figured it was something along those lines. Got plans for him when the ADC changes start coming into play (After worlds). If so, leaks?
I feel like it makes it more of a noob trap though, causing ezreal players to jump into the middle of the team isn't something to condone.
Yea, just like Lucian, we want you to go in and out with your dash, except, you never make it pass the out part cause you die before that happens.
Why not just simply add a movement speed buff to his W that gets the speed buff stronger per unit hit?
Sorry to threadjack, but if you had a moment I'd appreciate if you could give your thoughts in this thread
Wouldn't adding an AD ratio to E also somewhat homogenize AD and AP Ezreal? AP Ez would still have more overall burst, but now AD Ez would be able to access some of that too on lower-health targets. Do you think there's enough differentiation between the two playstyles right now, and how would you go about making them more distinct from each other?
For that matter, aside from W being not too good on AD Ez, his passive is also equally unsatisfying on his AP build. Would this eventually need addressing, and if so, how urgent would this be for Ezreal overall?
The main difference will always be that AP Ez is fully reliant on his spells (With occasional Lich Bane procs) to get off poke and burst, and can itemize mana regen to help with this while AD Ez has to use his autos to get more damage and doesn't have access to high level burst.

Well if they did that, then why would I AP Ez if AD Ez has a little burst and sustain damage?
A while back (probably close to a year ago now) I actually had an idea for Ezreal's W that would be more of a utility buff than a damage buff, but also incentivize using his W while fitting his title of the Prodigal Explorer. I unfortunately can't find the pictures I had shopped up for it, but basically these two things:
It's a utility increase to him that makes sense thematically as he's an explorer and he can "explore" brush or over walls to see jungle camps while not bringing any actual damage power into the ability, and allow him to duel some of the champions that give him problems through his sight buff like Vayne, who is not only very strong right now but also hard for Ezreal to duel due to missing skills while she's stealthing with her ultimate.
Slight utility for fighting and strong lane utility through checking brush for ganks or checking over walls for things like dragons or blue buffs, and all the while AP Ezreal is pretty much the same with a slight increase in W range as they level it up; perhaps take the AP ratio on it down very slightly to compensate for the increased safety.
I don't think it makes sense to give him a True Sight ability. For one, it can pretty significantly hamper champions like Akali, since he can throw a W through her invis field. Plus, Ezreal can "scout" bushes by throwing a Q through them and it has 1) better range 2) shorter CD 3) less mana. Overall it doesn't do a lot of benefit his dueling; Ez already is not meant to duel - they took away his AS debuff and he doesn't build Crit so he is naturally not going to be as strong of a 1v1 AD Duelist.
In addition, having all Skill Shots already makes very temporary stealth like Vayne less of an issue than other Champs. An AA-based Champ can't do much damage to a stealthed target since they can't target them. But Ezreal's E will still "lock on" to invisible targets, and skill shot abilities let him try to hit them if he can predict their route. I've actually hit Vaynes, Khaz, Twitch etc quite easily even as they are stealthing if I can predict their direction of travel.
Overall, it doesn't do much to benefit where he is lacking (late game damage scaling, lack of real mobility)
It's really hard to make use of the E buff because it's his escape and also doesn't prioritize champions. I don't think it will have almost any impact.
One change that would be really nice is buffing his base AD a tiny bit to bring him more in line with other ADCs which also fall off late game.

You could bring back ezreal w heal and remove attackspeed buff
He already has passive for attackspeed steroid and Attackspeed doesnt really fit him
Note you could shift into heal then
I could imagine that they want you to go in and fight rather than safe poke.
Because Ezreal's kit is not that simple to buff.
Something my friends and I were discussing: why not dampen some of the ad on his q, but allow it to critical hit? That would certainly open up traditional "hyper-carry" build on him, without necessarily spiking the already strong power of ap ez.
The answer is simple: They don't want him to be a crit ADC. Also if they somehow balance that a 1150 range attack critting, it'd be weaken by omen and the crit reduction mastery. I feel like that would hurt him more than help.
My problem is that he really isn't viable as an adc in comparison to most hyper-carry marksmen. Blue build is strong burst damage and traditional build nets him good results if he gets ahead, but he has no wave clear, not much dueling potential, and a lacking ability to carry if fed. He doesn't take towers particularly well. He's safe, and efficient, but excels in nothing, not even poke, where varus, sivir, Ashe and cait all beat him.
I somehow 1v1d a Vayne at 37 mins once, idk how but i did. Anyway you don't want Q critting. That'd be around 1250 on a 1.5 second cooldown.
Ezreal can carry if fed...js
Ezreal can carry if fed...js
That's true of any champion but he needs to be really fed and the team has to allow him to poke. Currently, in Plat+, Ezreal is at 47.9% in games that go 35+ minutes. That is surprisingly above Tristana (her late game isn't that good but it still felt better than Ezreal's) yet still in the very bottom of the pack. By comparison, Vayne is at 53.7% with the highest winrate of any ADC. It would probably be a lot higher if Vayne's pick-rate wasn't so obscene.
I really hate Vayne. She actually just flat out says "nope" to many otherwise viable ADC picks. For example, I am probably ~35% when picking Ezreal into Vayne. Worst of all, she's so easy to play. She has only 3 skills, no skillshots, her first item is sustain and every ability is chase/peel. Even if you're bad at Vayne, you will still be pretty useful. The same cannot be said of Ezreal, Draven etc.
Q can apply Spellblade, and Trinity Force has been good on Ezreal since they buffed it last year. He doesn't need a random chance to deal 250% damage on his Q when he has a consistent 200% base AD on it instead (for cheaper).

It wouldn't have to crit. and it's actually pretty annoying to have variable damage like that on a skillshot. It could just scale the damage with crit. chance a little bit. That way, Ezreal could still go traditional IE PD LW without losing his Q as a meaningful source of damage. The crit. scaling wouldn't need to be high but just enough to make a traditional ADC build (which spikes later) more viable on him. It would give an alternative path to TF while still having lower poke than a build focused on that.
As for W, I think it would be cool if it gave 50% MS to allies for 1 second. The duration is so low because the primary idea would be to reward Ezreal's who pull off the E into W combo to escape or chase for one last Q. You could also throw W at an ally when he's just about to get hit by a skillshot.

Riot doesn't need to change ratio marksmen to fit their items, they need to change the items to fit the marksmen.
Champions like Varus, Caitlyn, Lucian and Ezreal who scale primarily off AD and CDR rather than AD/AS/Crit/LS need their own group of mid game power spike items with stronger build paths and efficient damage so they can press their advantage before Jinx and Vayne get fed.
