Is there any real reason why there is a 3IP difference between Scaling and Flat AD quints?

As scaling costs 515 and flat is 512. Not really anything.. important enough to make me believe that this isnt just a typo or something. You get twice as much AD as you would with the 515 quint @ level 18, but I dunno if that's even worth 3 IP
